Mark Zuckerberg exposes White House censorship efforts

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is now going public with information about how the White House of President Joe Biden sought to censor social media users for posts that contradicted the administration's official narratives.

Zuckerberg did so, according to Breitbart News, during a recent interview on Joe Rogan's podcast.

One wonders whether Zuckerberg would be doing all of this if President-Elect Donald Trump lost the presidency. But, that's a question for you, the reader, to answer.

Zuckerberg dishes on vaccine censorship

During the interview, Zuckerberg specifically spoke about how the Biden administration went about censoring perceived "mis- and dis-information" about COVID-19 vaccines.

Zuckerberg said:

Now, I’m generally pretty pro rolling out vaccines. I think, on balance, the vaccines are more positive than negative, but I think that while they’re trying to push that program, they also tried to censor anyone who was basically arguing against it. And they pushed us super hard to take down things that, honestly, were true. They basically pushed us and said, ‘Anything that says that vaccines might have side effects, you basically need to take down.

Rogan, here, interjected, asking Zuckerberg, "who is 'they'?"

"It was people in the Biden Administration . . . These people from the Biden administration would call up our team and scream at them and curse," the Meta CEO said.

Zuckerberg did not name names.

A massive change of heart

After Zuckerberg recently met with Trump, he announced a number of big-time changes to Meta.

NPR, for example, has reported:

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Tuesday that the social media company, which owns Facebook and Instagram, would stop working with third-party fact-checking organizations. Repeating talking points long used by President-elect Donald Trump and his allies, in a video Zuckerberg said the company's content moderation approach resulted too often in "censorship".

That's not all.

CNN further reports:

Meta is eliminating the company’s DEI team, ending “equity and inclusion programs and changing hiring and supplier diversity practices,” according to a company memo obtained by CNN and sent to all global employees by Meta’s vice president of human resources, Janelle Gale.

The big question, of course, is why Zuckerberg is doing all of this now. Could it be to get in the good graces of Trump and conservatives, as Trump is about to enter office? Could it be a way to try to avoid responsibility for what his company has done? You be the judge.
