Trump praised by Arab officials for helping broker Israel-Hamas ceasefire
President Joe Biden and his administration have been widely criticized for their lack of progress in brokering ceasefire deal in Israel with Hamas terrorists, but President-elect Donald Trump isn't even in office yet and he's on the ball.
According to Breitbart, Trump and his team are being praised for doing more to help the ceasefire process along than Biden has done in the last year.
Trump reportedly pulled out all the stops in sending out his future Middle East envoys to begin the work of convincing all parties involved to be more flexible in negotiations, including a reportedly "tense" meeting with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Meanwhile, the Biden administration is sitting in Washington D.C. looking foolish and lazy.
What's going on?
Trump and his people were reportedly praised by Arab officials for working to strike a deal, which would allow for the hostages to be released -- at least those remaining alive.
Trump had vowed not long ago that all of the Hamas-held hostages should be released before he takes office, or "all hell will break out."
The Times of Israel noted:
A “tense” weekend meeting between Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and incoming Mideast envoy Steve Witkoff led to a breakthrough in the hostage negotiations, with the top aide to US President-elect Donald Trump doing more to sway the premier in a single sit-down than outgoing President Joe Biden did all year, two Arab officials told The Times of Israel on Tuesday.
The breakthrough in negotiations also led to a proposed, phased plan of how the ceasefire conditions would unfold.
The Israeli outlet added:
During the 42-day first phase, 33 of the remaining women, children, elderly and severely ill hostages will be released in exchange for roughly 1,000 Palestinian security prisoners. Israel will partially withdraw from Gaza, while helping facilitate the entry of 600 trucks of humanitarian aid into the Strip each day.
The second stage will see the release of the remaining living hostages and conclude with a declaration of a permanent end to hostilities. The third phase will see the release of bodies still held by Hamas.
The proposed deal was widely accepted.
It worked
In late-breaking news, the United States and Qatar confirmed Wednesday that a ceasefire deal had been reached.
Though many of the details of the ceasefire plan were not yet released, it appears that it will follow the aforementioned phased plan as far as how it will be rolled out.
U.S. sources indicated that the ceasefire could begin as soon as Sunday.
What an epic win for President Trump, and proof again that he's the type of world leader who can make things happen.
