Meghan Markle accused of creating 'really awful' workplace
Meghan Markle would have probably preferred this had stayed quiet. A source close to her has been talking to the media, and the picture they've painted of the former "Suits" actress is not a very pretty one.
According to PageSix.com, Meghan Markle’s former colleague claims the Duchess of Sussex would be cold and withholding to a staffer at the drop of a dime if "something went poorly."
This is NOT a good look for Markle, who is already in public relations damage control mode as speculations of divorce between her and Prince Harry swirl.
The allegations
The unnamed staffer recently spilled all in a Vanity Fair exposé about Meghan Markle.
It was "really, really, really awful. Very painful," the staffer said.
"Because she’s constantly playing checkers — I’m not even going to say chess — but she’s just very aware of where everybody is on her board. And when you are not in, you are to be thrown to the wolves at any given moment."
We've heard about this type before. Celebrities who try to maintain a public image of love and charity while actually being downright vicious and terrible to work with behind the scenes. Ellen DeGeneres and Kamala Harris are two other people who have been accused of the very same thing.
The staffer said that while Meghan Markle could be "warm and effusive at the start of a person’s employment," Meghan would flip if "her or her husband Prince Harry’s demands were not met."
"Like a 'Mean Girls' teenager
The source claimed that no behavior was too petty for Markle when it came to her employees.
Another source said that "if you were working for her, you were often treated like a tradesman who could be treated like s–t."
"I always thought she was a classic narcissist and getting her staff to tell a magazine how amazing she is only confirms that in my mind," another insider alleged. "She is lovely when it is all going her way but a demon when the worm turns."
"It’s talking behind your back. It’s gnawing at your sense of self. Really, like, ‘Mean Girls’ teenager," the source said.
This isn't the first time that Meghan Markle has been accused of bullying staff. Even before she left the Royal Family, allegations were swirling that she had been bullying palace staffers. Another report framed her as a "dictator in high heels" who reduced "grown men to tears."
However, in Markle's defense, there are at least SOME people who don't think she's that bad to work with. Producer Jane Marie, who collaborated with Harry and Meghan on audio projects, claims that Markle was "just a lovely, genuine person."
Another Meghan Markle staffer recently indicated that Meghan isn't all that bad, and instead thinks that her controversial exit from the Royal Family may be contributing to the negative reports about her.
What do you think? Would you ever want to work for Meghan Markle?
