As the new first lady of the United States prepares to welcome Donald J. Trump to office, one thing is becoming abundantly clear: she will not be satisfied with a supporting role in the upcoming presidential sequel.

Melania seems bent on helming and producing her own leading part. The former and prospective first lady has signed a reported $40 million agreement with billionaire Jeff Bezos's Amazon to produce a feature-length documentary and follow-up docuseries about her professional life, as The Daily Mail reported.

The production will feature cameos from her husband Donald and son Barron.

The production is overseen by Melania, who serves as an executive producer. The exact amount of the payday that will be allocated to her pocketbook remains uncertain; however, it is anticipated that it will be substantial.

Big Changes

It represents a significant departure from Melania's initial four years in the limelight in Washington, D.C., during which she engaged in minimal public engagements, granted even fewer media interviews, and largely avoided public view.

Melania is seeking control and what she appears to believe she is entitled to.

According to a source who is acquainted with the first lady's thoughts, "Money is her number one priority,"

Melania's return to the business world during her years between White House tenure is widely recognized.

In December 2021, she sold NFTs, which are digital artworks that were collectively titled 'Melania's Vision' and were priced at $150. According to reports, a portion of the proceeds were allocated to children and adolescents who were transitioning out of the foster care system.

More Business Endeavors

The first lady has been quite busy selling jewelry and holiday decorations as well. Additionally, in July, she launched her eponymous memoir, which became a New York Times bestseller. Although she allegedly did not receive a substantial advance for writing it, she is probably making a tidy profit from royalties.

Reportedly, Melania brought home a six-figure sum at one of the few presidential campaign events she went to in 2024.

Trump disclosed the payment in an August financial disclosure form. At a fundraiser for her husband hosted by the Log Cabin Republicans in April, Melania was paid $237,500 for a "speaking engagement," according to the document.

There is little doubt that moral—though not necessarily legal—questions are being raised by rumors that Melania will now try to profit from her husband's second term in the White House.

The Big Concern

Melania often and maybe rightfully brings up the issue of misleading media coverage.

Some of Trump's detractors in her first term said that she was cold and uncaring. " Free Melania" was a movement that some internet trolls started, fueling the rumor that her political aspirations were holding her captive.

"The biggest fear the Trumps have is bad press. They hate bad press. They obsess over it," an insider told the Mail.

Now Melania is stating categorically that things will be different this time.
