Sean Combs rape accuser says he boasted of role in Tupac Shakur's death
Despite multiple attempts to secure release on bail pending trial on a slew of sex trafficking and other serious criminal charges, music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs remains held in Manhattan's Metropolitan Detention Center.
As if Diddy's situation wasn't precarious enough, he is now also the subject of explosive claims alleging his involvement in the 1996 killing of renowned rapper Tupac Shakur, as the Daily Caller reports.
Accuser comes forward
In a recent interview with NewsNation's Ashleigh Banfield, a woman named Ashley Parham appeared alongside her lawyer, Ariel Mitchell-Kidd, and not only recounted her own harrowing experience with Combs, but also pointed to his potential role in a notorious crime that made international headlines several decades ago.
Parham discussed details of the incident in which she said she was raped by Combs, explaining that the assault itself was not the only shocking development on the fateful day in question.
According to Parham, after the rape itself, she was held against her will and forced to listen to Combs explain why any attempt on her part to hold him accountable for what had just occurred would inevitably fall on deaf ears.
“They told me to sit down So I sat own on this makeshift bench out of buckets and of plywood, and I just had to sit there and just kind of listen to Sean Combs brag about what he did to me and that he's gotten away with more serious crimes, and no one would believe me,” Parham said.
After Parham added, “And he, he mentioned Tupac,” Banfield sought clarification, at which point Combs' accuser declared, “He paid to have Tupac killed,” adding, “he was bragging about it.”
Past allegations recalled
With Shakur's killing having gone unsolved for so many years, many were surprised last summer when Duane “Keefe D” Davis was charged in the case, with prosecutors claiming that he was the gang leader behind the murder, as People reported.
Davis is the last remaining living person who was allegedly riding in the vehicle when the lethal shots were fired at the car carrying Shakur, which was driven by Death Row Records' chief Marion “Suge” Knight.
Notably, in a 2009 interview with authorities, Davis made multiple references to Combs and what was his ongoing animosity toward Knight as well as Shakur,
In a separate interview with police, Davis asserted that Combs went so far as to solicit his help in killing both rivals, stating that Combs declared a need to “get rid” of Knight and Shakur and offering him $1 million to eliminate “the problem.”
Combs, for his part, has repeatedly denied involvement in Shakur's death, and he has not been charged in the killing.
Latest legal twist unfolds
As KNTV in Las Vegas reported this week, Davis just lost a bid to see his murder charges tossed, with Clark County District Court Judge Carli Kierny ruling that the accused had not provided proof of immunity claims he said were in existence.
Davis' trial is currently scheduled for March 17, with lawyers still determining whether to appeal this week's decision to the state Supreme Court, but whether the course of his case will reveal additional details about Combs' alleged involvement in Shakur's death, only time will tell.
