Kim Kardashian, like most other Hollywood celebs, has supported Democrats throughout her career, including Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden, among others.

But she also happens to be interested in First Lady Melania Trump, and a picture she posted on Instagram of the first lady sporting her wide-brimmed hat worn during her husband's Inauguration Day ceremony infuriated many of her fans, USA Today reported. 

Kardashian happens to be friends with Ivanka Trump, but has never shown off her relationship to the Trump family to her friends.

Again, like most Democrats who are afraid of their own shadow, whenever Kardashian would make a political post, it would almost always be regarding a Democrat.

What happened?

Kardashian used her Instagram account, which boasts a mind-blowing 359 million followers, to post a story showcasing Melania Trump's outfit for the Trump inauguration, and many of her fans were absolutely furious as a result.

USA Today noted:

In 2016, Kardashian endorsed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in her race against President Trump, which he ultimately won. After former President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris won in 2020, she posted three blue hearts on X alongside a picture of the pair.

According to Wealth of Geeks, Kardashian didn't caption the post on her Instagram account, but many speculated that she was giving a nod to Melania Trump for the outfit she sported to the ceremony.

The outlet wrote:

The Skims founder didn't include a caption to her post, but it's suspected she was primarily shining a light on Melania's look, given she's stayed hush on her political views throughout the 2024 presidential election. Regardless of the beauty mogul's intention, the post angered her millions of followers online, particularly Democrats, since she didn't endorse anyone in the election and has previously flaunted her close bond with Trump.

In response to the post, Kardashian reportedly lost some of her social media followers on Instagram and other platforms.

However, the number lost wasn't significant overall, as she reportedly only lost about 150,000 of her IG followers, which is a drop in the bucket compared to the 359 million followers she still has.

Angry fans

Some of her fans expressed their anger with the post in the comments.

One IG user wrote, "Guys unfollow, don’t watch their show and don’t buy their products. Hit them where it hurts."

Another wrote, "Girl…. sold out out for far right maga propaganda."

Even with the loss of a small fraction of her fans, it's safe to say that Kardashian will probably still sleep very well at night.
