Kai Trump, the president's oldest grandchild, shared Inauguration Day photos from the White House
There is little doubt that President Donald Trump is immensely proud of his five children and 10 grandchildren, and they are likewise proud of their famous father and grandfather who now resides in the White House once again.
That includes Trump's eldest grandchild, Kai Trump, 17, who recently shared on social media a series of photos she had taken in Washington D.C. around the Inauguration, the New York Post reported.
One of those photos shows the president and his beloved eldest granddaughter about to share an embrace during one of the inauguration events last week.
At Grandpa Trump's inauguration
On Monday, Kai Trump posted a collection of recent photos on her Instagram page that were labeled "Moments from D.C." and include the picture of her about to hug her presidential grandfather.
Other photos in Kai's post included snaps of her at the White House and at various inauguration-related events, including some of the evening balls that rounded out that busy day.
She was seen in some of the pics posing with the entire Trump family, dancing with her father Don Jr., or posing alongside her mother Vanessa, her Aunt Ivanka, and some of her younger siblings.
Visiting Grandpa at the White House
The Post reported that Kai Trump, born in 2007, is the oldest of five children shared by Don Jr. and his ex-wife Vanessa, who got divorced in 2018 after they were first married in 2005.
Per USA Today, Kai first drew attention as a young child when she would be spotted at various White House events during President Trump's first term in office, and was often seen hanging out and playing with her Uncle Barron, 18, the president's youngest child who is only a year older than his oldest grandchild.
The outlet noted that Kai made her "political debut" last summer when she delivered a well-received speech at the Republican National Convention in support of her grandfather being the party's nominee.
"To me, he’s just a normal grandpa. He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking. He always wants to know how we’re doing in school," she said, and added, "A lot of people have put my grandpa through hell, and he’s still standing."
A shared love of golf
According to USA Today, Kai was born and raised in New York City but now lives in South Florida and attends a prestigious private school, where she has excelled as a competitive golfer.
In fact, she aspires to one day golf professionally and is already committed to playing at the collegiate level for the University of Miami after she graduates from high school in 2026.
During her RNC speech last July, Kai spoke briefly about her shared love of golf with her presidential grandfather and how they've both bonded together and competed with one another on the links.
"When we play golf together, if I’m not on his team, he’ll try to get inside of my head, and he’s always surprised I don’t let him get to me," Kai joked. "But I have to remind him, I’m a Trump, too."
