Trump more than doubles Biden's executive order total
In the first couple of weeks of his administration, President Donald Trump has signed over twice as many executive orders as former President Joe Biden did during the corresponding time period of his administration.
In other words, as Breitbart News reports, Trump is doing everything he can do deliver on the agenda that he promised to deliver to the American people.
As we will see, Just the News reports that Trump is doing just that, and in a big way.
But, first, we will look at Trump's 60 to 29 lead - or at least this is what is was at the time of this writing. Knowing Trump, it is probably much higher by now.
The numbers:
The relevant time period, here, is the first 18 days of the administration.
Breitbart reports:
President Donald Trump has signed in 18 days more than double the executive orders that former President Joe Biden did over the same period to start his administration, according to data compiled by the American Presidency Project (APP) at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
The outlet goes on to report the specific numbers.
It writes, "According to a running list of 10,441 total executive orders the APP has archived dating back to President George Washington, Trump has signed 60 executive orders during the first two and a half weeks of his administration."
Breitbart continues:
In comparison, Biden enacted 29 executive orders in his first 18 days, while former President Barack Obama signed 14 orders over the same time frame in 2009. According to the data, Trump’s 60 executive orders are more than every president’s combined in the first 18 days of their first or second terms– excluding Trump’s first term–since the start of the Reagan administration.
That's a big jump!
According to Just the News, Trump "has already delivered most of his agenda."
Per the outlet:
Such scenes have played out almost daily since Trump took office 17 days ago, a historically aggressive start to a presidency that on Wednesday checked off yet another of the 20 items on his 2024 campaign platform’s promises made, promises delivered list.
The scene that Just the News is referring is the scene of Trump signing an executive order protecting women who play sports from transgender individuals. Video has gone viral of Trump signing the order while surrounded by young female athletes.
Just the News continues, "It's a pace that has whipsawed liberals, amazed veteran observers in Washington and fundamentally changed the compass settings for America, just like Trump promised."
We'll have to see if Trump can keep this pace throughout his term.
