College Republicans officially invite Barron Trump to join in wake of controversy
The head of New York University's College Republicans chapter raised eyebrows last week after she made a disparaging comment regarding Barron Trump.
Yet Barron has since been vindicated by the College Republicans, which recently hailed him as "the future of the conservative movement."
Former president described Barron as "an oddity on campus"
According to USA Today, the controversy began with a statement provided by former NYU College Republicans president Kaya Walker to Vanity Fair magazine.
Walker told the publication that Barron isn't active at the college saying, "He's sort of like an oddity on campus. He goes to class, he goes home."
USA Today noted Walker resigned from her position on Monday while the College Republicans of America posted a statement to social media.

In it, College Republicans president Will Donahue Donahue praised Barron while pointing out that the group had broken a 100-year tradition by endorsing his father.
"We would be honored to have him join the College Republicans of America"
"Barron Trump represents the future of the conservative movement, and we would be honored to have him join the College Republicans of America," Donahue declared.
The College Republicans of America also condemned Walker's assessment of Barron as being "inappropriate," adding that it didn't "align with the values and principles upheld by our organization."
Donahue further said during an interview with USA Today, "We believe that MAGA is the future of the conservative movement, and that the youth will spearhead the institutionalization of Trump's policies in our politics."
"Young people want fair trade, reasonable immigration policy, and no new wars, and that is what MAGA offers," he insisted.
Adviser says Barron helped shape his father's podcast strategy
While Barron may not be personally involved with the College Republicans, insiders have said that he played a major role in his father's campaign.
Trump adviser Jason Miller, told Politico's "Playbook Deep Dive" in October that "Barron has been very involved in recommending a number of the podcasts that we should do."
"I got to tell you, hats off to the young man. Every single recommendation he’s had has turned out to be absolute ratings gold that’s broke the internet. He’s done a great job," Miller stressed.
