President Trump fires JCS Chairman CQ Brown
President Donald Trump is not afraid to get rid of the people who are underperforming or not following through on his agenda, and that's exactly why he's the successful businessman -- and president -- that he is.
According to The Hill, Trump, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, announced that Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Air Force Gen. CQ Brown Jr. was let go.
To replace the outgoing JCS chairman, Trump named Air Force Lt. Gen. Dan “Razin” Caine to take the position -- a move highly praised by other leaders who know that Caine, like Hegseth, will focus on preparing our troops for battle instead of DEI initiatives.
The replacement sparked major backlash on the left, and some media outlets and pundits even pulled the race card on the president simply because of Brown's skin color.
What's going on?
The commander-in-chief wrote a post on Truth Social thanking Brown for his service.
"I want to thank General Charles ‘CQ’ Brown for his over 40 years of service to our country, including as our current Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff,” Trump wrote.
Trump added, "He is a fine gentleman and an outstanding leader, and I wish a great future for him and his family."
Brown wasn't the only high-ranking military officer to be fired by Hegseth and the president, as The Hill noted:
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth signaled in his Friday statement that both Vice Chief of Staff of the Air Force Gen. Jim Slife and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. Lisa M. Franchetti, the first woman to be on the Joint Chiefs of Staff, have been fired.
"I am also requesting nominations for the positions of Chief of Naval Operations and Air Force Vice Chief of Staff,” Hegseth said in a Friday statement.
“The incumbents in these important roles, Admiral Lisa Franchetti and General James Slife, respectively, have had distinguished careers. We thank them for their service and dedication to our country.”
Social media reaction
Users across social media reacted to Brown's firing, with most of Trump's supporters cheering the president for cutting the dead weight from the Pentagon.
"Great to see President Trump taking action against woke generals like CQ Brown who prioritize racial discrimination over national security. His firing is a step in the right direction towards draining the swamp and restoring American values," one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "This firing was a no brainer. Thanks, Pete."
It'll be refreshing to have someone in charge who is concerned more with winning wars than what pronouns should be used.
