Where did Melania go after Inauguration Day?
While First Lady Melania Trump was present at her husband's inauguration on January 20 and accompanied him to tour devastated areas in North Carolina and California a few days after that, she then seemed to disappear from public view for more than a month.
What has she been doing, and will she continue to be an absentee First Lady?
Trump missed attending the Super Bowl on February 9 with her hubby, and she also missed him signing his first legislation of the second term, The Laken Riley Act.
She hasn't even hired a social secretary yet, and her staff of less than a dozen is unusually small for a first lady.
Dual focus
It turns out that Trump has been working on a documentary for Amazon Prime, which she pitched to the platform before Inauguration Day.
When she was with her husband touring hurricane and wildfire damage, crews were shooting footage. Shooting has continued periodically since then, and is wrapping up now.
She finally appeared on Monday afternoon to support the Take It Down Act, which requires social media platforms and websites to remove deepfake and revenge pornographic images and videos from their platforms.
That was the first time since February 22 that she was in public.
Her other focus is just as important to her--if not more--than being First Lady, and that's her son Barron.
Barron
Barron Trump is a college freshman at NYU's business school, but he doesn't exactly have a normal life as the son of the President.
Secret Service follows him everywhere, which means he has to live at Trump Tower instead of a dorm and can't do some normal activities for kids his age, like play a game of pickup basketball.
Being a college freshman is a big enough adjustment, so his mother has been checking in on him to make sure all is okay, according to those in the know.
After all, he isn't really able to socialize other than online outside of school, according to the Daily Mail Online.
It will be interesting to see how involved Melania is now that she's done shooting the documentary and as Barron adjusts to college life.
