President Donald Trump's meeting with Ukrainian president Volodmyr Zelenskyy was a debacle, to say the least. Zelenskyy was ultimately shown the door after his outbursts.

According to the Daily Mail, bombshell audio from a "hot mic" moment in the Oval Office was revealed this week that included Trump instructing his aides on what to do with the Ukrainian president once the trainwreck of a meeting was over.

Zelenskyy was accused by Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance of disrespecting the United States during his meeting, which led to fireworks between them.

On that day, Trump announced that he had nixed the mineral rights deal because of Zelenskyy's disrespect and his "tone" during the sit-down meeting at the White House.

What happened?

The audio revealed from the microphone recording confirmed that Trump had his aides take Zelenskyy to the Roosevelt Room of the White House before they asked him to leave.

"You’re right, maybe we should (INAUDIBLE). Let’s have a little something..." Trump can be heard saying to an unidentified aide. "Would you bring them to the Roosevelt Room?"

Another "hot mic" moment from the meeting quickly went viral as it was reported that Zelenskyy called Vice President Vance a profane word in Russian.

Regardless, Zelenskyy backed down, significantly, in the days following the heated meeting, posting incessantly on social media in an attempt to try to convince the White House to go through with the deal.

On Tuesday, during his address to Congress, Trump announced that Zelenskyy was ready to come back to the negotiating table for the deal, saying he said it in a declaration earlier that day.

"Regrettable"

News that the two parties could be back to the negotiating table came in the wake of Zelenskyy taking to his X account and calling the emotions and behavior during the meeting with Trump and Vance "regrettable."

That statement came just a day after the White House announced it was pausing military aid to Ukraine, which obviously sparked fear in the Ukrainian president and sparked what amounted to an apology.

"Our meeting in Washington, at the White House on Friday, did not go the way it was supposed to be. It is regrettable that it happened this way. It is time to make things right," Zelenskiy posted on X. "My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership to get a peace that lasts."

Only time will tell if the two sides come to a final agreement and, if so, what that will look like.
