Divorce rumors concerning former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama continue to swirl in certain circles, especially given recent events.

According to the New York Post, the former president was once again spotted without his wife at his side at a Los Angeles Clippers game earlier this week, fueling speculation that the two could be on the verge of a split -- or already parted ways.

Additional reports noted that Barack Obama was spotted hanging out with Clippers owner Steve Ballmer and his wife, Connie Snyder, with Michelle nowhere in sight.

The 44th president jumped to his feet and waved to the audience when the jumbotron cameras focused on him sitting courtside.

What's going on?

The event added another to his list that didn't include his wife. Michelle Obama, an especially strong critic of President Donald Trump, snubbed Trump's inauguration, leaving Barack Obama on his own there.

While a Trump Derangement Syndrome-stricken Democrat not showing up to Trump's inauguration isn't a massive surprise, her absence at the late President Jimmy Carter's funeral services was definitely brow-raising.

The Post noted:

Michelle was also not with her husband at President Jimmy Carter’s funeral at Washington National Cathedral in DC, with reports saying she decided to remain “in Hawaii on an extended holiday vacation” instead.

Just the night before the Clippers game, Barack Obama was spotted eating out at a famous L.A. restaurant with only his daughters by his side, once again sparking whispers about his marriage.

The only recent hint of the two continuing to get along included a few Valentine's Day messages exchanged with each other on social media, though many thought it was weird that they would express their feelings there as if they weren't doing it in person.

The reports of Barack attending the Clippers game by himself drew mixed reactions from social media users, with some pointing out that it's perfectly reasonable that he would have gone to the game by himself. Others believe it was further evidence of a strained marriage.

"I don’t remember ever seeing them out at sporting events before together," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "One half doesn’t want to be seen in public…. Can’t imagine why ?"

Only time will tell if the Obamas end up splitting or if everything is normal and they just do things separately.
