Trumps trolls Biden, warns 'autopen signature' could invalidate pardons

President Donald Trump has begun trolling former President Joe Biden about his use of "autopen" for what the current president claims is a significant portion of his work while in office.

The president said on Monday that the pardons signed by Biden while in office to the memebrs fo a congressional committee who investigated the Jan. 6, 2021 events at Capitol Hill were invalid, because they were signed with autopen, the News Journal reported.

The president went on to warn that despite the 12th hour pardons handed out by the former president, members of the contentious committee could still see some form of prosecution.

About the Signatures

Autopen, a term largely new to the lay-people watching the drama unfold, is apparently something that is not new to Washington D.C.

The term is defined as “a device that mechanically reproduces a person’s signature,” which is done to alleviate the time and effort it would take someone in an office such as the president to personally sign reams of papers worth of documents.

Trump is asserting, that Biden did not physically sign the pardons, nor did he have any intention to sign them, which makes the signatures invalid.

Trump's Comments

In his post on Truth Social, the president announced the presumed change in pardon status for the members of the community:

“The ‘pardons’ … are hereby declared VOID, VACANT, AND OF NO FURTHER FORCE OR EFFECT, because of the fact that they were done by Autopen,” Trump wrote on his social media site.

“In other words, Joe Biden did not sign them but, more importantly, he did not know anything about them.”

It appears, from the accusation leveled byu Trump, that the president's concern is partially with the use of autopen, and partially with the potential for misuse of the service, namelyu a use that could be without the president's knowledge or awareness.

Another Post

This wasn't the only time Trump brought up the issue of Biden not signing his own work while in the White House, however.

The day before the announcement that the committee members, and possibly others, did not have a fair pardon, he also posted a photo showing autopen in place of the former president.

"The person who was the real President during the Biden years was the person who controlled the Autopen!" Trump wrote in another post on his account, showing the autopen photo sandwiched between a photo from his first and second times in office.
