According to Sky News' report over the weekend, Prince Harry's immigration documents are expected to be made public within the next few days.

The source states that the Duke of Sussex's U.S. visa documents must be released by Tuesday, March 18, according to Judge Carl Nichol's ruling, as The Sun reported.

The conservative U.S. think tank The Heritage Foundation claimed that Harry's drug usage history should have prevented him from obtaining a visa, and this claim was included in a Freedom of Information Act (FOI) request that was filed on Saturday, March 15.

Harry, who is forty years old, confessed to using hallucinogenic mushrooms, cocaine, and marijuana in his memoir Spare, published in 2023.

In an interview for the book's promotion on 60 Minutes Australia, the royal opened up about his use of psychedelics to cope with the loss of his mother, Princess Diana.

“I would never recommend people to do this recreationally,” Harry said at the time. “But doing it with the right people if you are suffering from a huge amount of loss, grief, or trauma, then these things have a way of working as a medicine.”

Harry was just 12 years old and Prince William was 15 years old when Diana died in a car crash in Paris in 1997.

The same court had previously ruled that there was no public interest in granting the FOI request. But in February, DHS attorneys announced that Harry, would have his documents published with certain redactions.

“Specifically, Defendant would propose redacting all information in these items that would reveal information that the Court has determined Defendant can withhold,” the department lawyer John Bardo wrote in a court filing obtained by Sky News.

Since 2020, Harry, Meghan Markle, and their eldest son Prince Archie have been living in California. In 2021, the couple welcomed their second child, Princess Lilibet.

Their "freedom flight" from Canada's Vancouver Island to Los Angeles, where they slept at Tyler Perry's house before buying a property in Montecito, was recently praised by royal admirers.

A New Life

This was the first step in the couple's new life together after they decided to step away from royal duties and become financially independent in 2020.

“It’s 6 a.m. on the 14th of March and we are on the freedom flight. We are leaving Canada and we are headed to Los Angeles,” Harry said in a video that resurfaced via royal fan pages on March 14, 2025.

The details surrounding their self-removal from the royal family and their move across the pond were first shared in Netflix’s "Harry & Meghan" docuseries in 2022.
