The liberal media are once again stirring up gossip and innuendo about Donald Trump's marriage to Melania Trump. The story this time involves a pregnant woman - who calls the tale a disgusting smear.

Florida congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna dismissed "gross" claims tying her to the president in a new book about Trump, Revenge: The Inside Story of Trump's Return to Power.

Author Alex Isenstadt, of liberal news outlet Axios, recounts a story about Trump inviting a then-pregnant Luna to rest in his bed. Trump, according to the book, joked that Luna would have to keep it a secret from Melania.

'Disgusting' rumor dismissed

"If you need a bed to lay down in, there's one here on the plane. If you feel sick and you need to lay there, you can lay on it," Trump allegedly said.

"Just don't tell Melania. She doesn't like other women on my bed."

In a statement on X, Luna ripped the book's "disgusting" spin on what she says occurred. The congresswoman said she was having symptoms of pre-eclampsia and Trump respectfully offered a bed for her to rest.

"He did this in a respectful way and in front of my husband, of which we thanked him. He also assured me that they had a medical team on board in case anything happened and they were aware of how pregnant I was," Luna wrote on X.

Melania's role revealed

The president's alleged infidelities received fresh publicity during his criminal prosecution last year over payments to porn star Stormy Daniels, whom Trump denied having an affair with. The trial is said to have angered Melania, who saw it as unfair political persecution as her husband fought for a second term.

While Melania publicly criticized her husband's enemies for using "lawfare," her frequent absences from the campaign trail led to more gossip about her true feelings.

The First Lady's famously reclusive nature has often been interpreted by the president's critics as a sign that she's not truly committed to her husband and his career, but Isenstadt's sources said her elusiveness is seen as an asset in the political world.

"In a lot of ways, her scarcity creates value," Isenstadt told the Daily Mail podcast Welcome To MAGAland.

"Donors want to be around her when she's going to an event, that's a huge attraction because she's not there as much, right? Trump, he's holding press conferences every day and he's totally out there all the time. But when she's present at something, it gets a lot of eyeballs. And I think she knows that."

Isenstadt describes the First Lady as a massively influential figure who her husband trusts, despite the ongoing rumors of a rift.

When Trump was in a furious slugfest with Ron DeSantis during the GOP primary, Melania advised her husband not to use his first post back on Twitter (rebranded X) to attack the Florida governor. Melania warned it would make Trump look petty and small.

Trump instead reserved his first post for his iconic mugshot - creating a seismic political impact.
