'Married with Children' star Cindyana Santangelo passes away at 58
Fans of the classic television sitcom "Married with Children" were devastated earlier this week to learn that one of its stars had died.
According to Breitbart, longtime actress Cindyana Santangelo passed away suddenly at her home on Monday afternoon at the age of 58.
Actress's cause of death has yet to be determined
Law enforcement sources told the website TMZ that first emergency responders were dispatched to Santangelo's home in Malibu in response to a "medical emergency."
The celebrity was subsequently rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her passing is now the subject of an investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Although the cause of her death will not be announced until an autopsy has been performed, no signs of foul play have yet been found. However, deputies were reportedly told that she recently underwent cosmetic shots at her house.
Breitbart noted how Santangelo's most memorable role was likely that of Mexican exotic dancer Sierra Madre on "Married with Children."
Musician described Santangelo as "the Latin Marilyn Monroe"
In subsequent years she went on to play Maria Marion on "CSI: Miami" as well as Angelica on "ER." Santangelo's film credits included 1990's " The Adventures of Ford Fairlane" and 2003's "Hollywood Homicide."
What's more, the New York Daily News reported that Santangelo also appeared in music videos for the bands Young MC and Jane's Addiction.
Perry Farrell served as Jane's Addiction's lead singer, and the Daily News recalled how he once described Santangelo as "the Latin Marilyn Monroe" before adding that she was "gorgeous."
In addition to appearing in the band's music video for "Stop," she also spoke several lines in Spanish on Jane's Addiction's sophomore album.
Friend "in shock and disbelief" over Santangelo's death
Tributes to Santangelo quickly appeared on her Instagram account, with one person writing, "Condolences and prayers to family, friends and all who loved her."
The actress's passing came roughly a month after she put up a post celebrating the birthday of her son, who had just turned 20.
Meanwhile, friend Cynthia Abanuelos posted a message of her own in which she spoke of being "in shock and disbelief" over Santangelo's death.
"I will feel your presence in every crashing wave, every salty breeze, and every shimmering reflection of the sun on the ocean’s surface," Abanuelos wrote, adding, "You were my best friend, my wifey, my kindred spirit. The most gorgeous mermaid in human form. Forever drawn to the sea."
