President Donald Trump and his administration have deported a number of Venezuelan gang members to El Salvador, where they'll do time in prison -- a deal worked out between the United States and the Central American country.

According to NewsNationNow, Department of Homeland Security Sec. Kristi Noem visited the Tourist Confinement Center at the El Salvadorian prison where the gang members will be housed.

As of this writing, Trump and his officials have deported an impressive 261 illegal migrant gang members to the Central American country, with more expected down the road.

Right now, the Trump administration is being held up by legal challenges to his deportations, but are expected to ultimately exercise his executive authority to make it happen.

What's going on?

Aside from touring the special confinement areas where the deported gang members will be held, Noem is expected to meet with El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele.

The Trump administration has sung Bukele's praises, calling him a wonderful partner to work with on handling the deported gang members.

Noem announced her visit in a video posted to her X account and sent a clear message to criminal illegal aliens in the United States.

"I toured the CECOT, El Salvador’s Terrorism Confinement Center. President Trump and I have a clear message to criminal illegal aliens: LEAVE NOW. If you do not leave, we will hunt you down, arrest you, and you could end up in this El Salvadorian prison," she wrote.

In a separate post, she wrote, "The deportations of Tren De Aragua to the El Salvadorian Terrorist Confinement Center sent a message to the world that America is no longer a safe haven for violent criminals."

Social media reacts

Users across social media chimed in on Noem's visit to the prison facility where the gang members will be locked down.

"I really like her. I also like that they filmed her in front of one of the prisons to demonstrate the consequences of illegal crossing," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "You are a very brave and loyal secretary of Homeland Security! Thank you for all your doing!"

It's nice to see administration officials who are not afraid to get their hands dirty and get into the real world.
