Trump strips security clearance from former Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency head
This week saw the White House accuse former Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Director Chris Krebs of having "suppressed conservative viewpoints under the guise of combatting purported misinformation."
However, President Donald Trump went further when he signed a memorandum revoking Krebs' security clearance.
White House alleges Krebs "weaponized his position against free speech"
According to Breitbart, Trump signed the memorandum after it was presented to him in the Oval Office by White House staff secretary Will Scharf on Wednesday.
"This is a man who weaponized his position against free speech in the election context, in the context of COVID-19," Scharf said of Krebs.

"This is another, similar Presidential Memorandum to the one you just signed," the White House staff secretary went on to tell Trump.
Krebs insisted that the 2020 election "was the most secure in American history"
"It addresses his access to government existing clearances he might have, and further instructs your Department of Justice, other aspects of your government, to investigate some of the malign acts that he participated in while he was still head of CISA," Scharf added.
Breitbart noted how the memorandum "directs the head of every federal agency to immediately revoke any active security clearance held by Krebs."
It also suspends "any active security clearance held by individuals and entities associated with Krebs, including SentinelOne, pending a review of whether such clearances are consistent with national interest."
Breitbart recalled how under Krebs, the CISA released a statement which insisted that the 2020 election "was the most secure in American history."
Trump stripped security clearances from over a dozen figures last month
Krebs is not the first former government official to see his security clearance revoked by Trump, as the president stripped clearances last month from over a dozen people.
Fox News reported that the affected individuals included former Secretaries of State Antony Blinken and Hillary Clinton, as well as former Vice President Kamala Harris and members of the Biden family.
Also targeted were the 51 intelligence officials who signed an open letter in 2020 which alleged that Hunter Biden's abandoned laptop bore "all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation."
Fox News noted that the aforementioned figures will no longer have "unescorted access to secure United States Government facilities."
