Listen, everyone knew President Joe Biden was in steep cognitive decline, even the Democrats and media allies that pretended he wasn't, including Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA).

According to the New York Post, the former House Speaker reportedly slammed a Wall Street Journal report on Biden's cognitive decline a month after she quietly admitted to friends in close political circles that she was "startled" by his rapidly declining condition. 

Pelosi reportedly told close friends that "he was not the same Joe Biden," shortly after being awarded with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Biden's staffers, advisers, and media allies pretended for years that the president was in good physical and cognitive shape, and are only now starting to admit that he wasn't, and that they were simply carrying on the narrative.

What did she say?

The revelation came from an excerpt from "Uncharted: How Trump Beat Biden, Harris, and the Odds in the Wildest Campaign in History," written by author Chris Whipple.

In his new book, Whipple wrote that the former House Speaker was "startled by how much the president had aged."

The Post noted:

The White House event took place exactly a month before Biden’s dramatic decline was detailed in a Wall Street Journal report, where more than 45 Republican and Democratic lawmakers and staffers described a president who spoke so softly during meetings that participants struggled to understand him; did not appear to know what policies were in place; and relied on staffers to answer direct questions.

Unsurprisingly, and despite telling the truth behind his back, Pelosi labeled the WSJ piece as a "hit piece" against Biden.

That was just weeks before Biden would have a disastrous debate performance with Donald Trump, which ultimately led to his ouster from the Democratic presidential ticket.

"Pelosi believed Biden’s advisers were misleading him, showing him rosy poll numbers. She’d never been impressed by them; in her mind, they were an old boys’ club who talked only to themselves," Whipple added.

Blame game

Like many other Democrats, Pelosi blamed Biden for not exiting the race sooner as the reason why Kamala Harris was destroyed in the election by Donald Trump.

"Had the president gotten out sooner, there may have been other candidates in the race," Pelosi said shortly after the election.

Many believe that Pelosi helped orchestrate Biden's exit from the race.

Former First Lady Jill Biden called Pelosi's intervention in the 2024 election "disappointing."
