Police make multiple arrests at townhall event hosted by Marjorie Taylor Greene
Police made multiple arrests at a town hall event that was hosted earlier this week by Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Yet despite facing chaos, the congresswoman was quick to make clear that she would not be deterred from doing her job.
Crowd of hostile demonstrators disrupted Greene's speech
According to Breitbart, the event took place on Tuesday evening at the Acworth Community Center located in Acworth, Georgia.
Greene had intended to speak about constituent services but the lawmaker's speech was disrupted by a loud group of hostile demonstrators.
"Well, welcome everyone," Greene said as tensions inside the venue were escalating. "This is not a political rally. This is not a protest."
"If you stand up and want to protest, if you want to shout and chant, we will have you removed, just like that man was thrown out,” the congresswoman said, later adding throughout the disruptions," she continued.
"This is a peaceful town hall," Greene at one point declared. "Now this is a peaceful town hall, ladies and gentlemen, this should not have to happen."
Greene praises police for having "conducted themselves in textbook fashion"
Greene later put up a social media post in which she included a clip of the disorder and praised law enforcement officers for their response.
For anyone questioning or criticizing the police at my townhall last night, the GREAT police officers conducted themselves in textbook fashion and protected every single person there by keeping the peace!!!!!

"For anyone questioning or criticizing the police at my townhall last night, the GREAT police officers conducted themselves in textbook fashion and protected every single person there by keeping the peace," Greene wrote.
"These protestors were deranged and aggressive and lost control of themselves the second the townhall started," the congresswoman added.
Event saw six people expelled and another three arrested
Breitbart quoted Greene as later saying, "America overwhelmingly voted in November for President Trump, Republican control of the House and the Senate, and how people should handle their businesses is in the voting booth."
"There’s no reason for screaming, yelling, ridiculous outrageous protesting. That disrupts the entire event for every single person that is there," she pointed out.
Breitbart noted that six people had to be escorted from Greene's event, while another three were arrested. Two individuals were also tased.
