Harris paid celebrities large sums of money to endorse her
It turns out that the rumors that former Vice President Kamala Harris gave large sums of money to celebrities in order to endorse her 2024 presidential campaign are true.
The latest evidence to support this claim, according to the Daily Mail, comes from newly-released Harris campaign disclosures.
Suffice it to say that there is a reason why Harris ended her campaign broke.
Democrats sure do know how to waste money.
The details
One of the celebrities whom Harris paid is National Basketball Association (NBA) player Lebron James. Fox News reports that Harris paid his company $50,000 in exchange for the endorsement.
Per the outlet:
LeBron James' endorsement of Kamala Harris last year came with an added bonus for him. Records show that on Jan. 28 the former vice president paid James' entertainment company $50,000 for "campaign event production."
James certainly delivered on his end. Among other things, he posted a social media message, saying, "When I think about my kids and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me. VOTE KAMALA HARRIS!!!"
James never did specifically campaign for Harris.
But, the Daily Mail reports:
[H]is production company worked with Harris to produce the ad, titled Hate Takes US Back. 'We are thrilled to have collaborated on producing this ad for LeBron James as he officially endorses Kamala Harris,' the company wrote in a social media post at the time.
Just one of many
James was just one of many celebrities whom Harris paid to endorse her. This situation has been thoroughly investigated by the Washington Free Beacon, which has released several reports on the matter.
In one such report, it writes:
Kamala Harris’s campaign paid nearly $100,000 to a shell company for former president Barack Obama to travel to events and roughly $60,000 to rapper Cardi B, who said she "didn’t get a dollar" to appear alongside the failed presidential candidate.
The list goes on and on.
The outlet adds:
he campaign paid $2.5 million to Oprah Winfrey’s production company, Harpo, to produce a campaign event in Michigan on Sept. 19 . . . The campaign paid $165,000 to the production company of Beyoncé Knowles . . . the Harris campaign paid $132,753 to Mermaid Touring, the company of pop star Lady Gaga, $132,335 . . .
If Harris was such an outstanding candidate, then surely she would not have had to pay for all of these celebrity endorsements. Instead, one would think that credible people would be lining up to support her. It turns out, however, that Harris was such a bad candidate that vast sums of money and celebrity endorsements couldn't fix her problems.
