Sen. Chuck Schumer won't rule out plans to impeach Trump for a third time
Donald Trump is the only president to have ever been impeached twice, with his second trial ending several weeks after he left office.
Trump could be on track to make history again as Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer recently suggested the president could be impeached for a third time.
Schumer: "Trump is violating the rule of law"
According to Breitbart, Schumer's remarks came during a weekend interview with Dana Bash, who hosts CNN's "State of the Union.
"Well, look, right now, President Trump is violating [the] rule of law in every way and we’re fighting him every single day in every way,"
After George Sen. Jon Ossoff said he “strongly” agrees that Trump should be impeached, @SenSchumer tells @DanaBashCNN, “Two years is too far away to predict. Our job is day to day to day to day to show who Trump is, what he is doing, and it’s having an effect.”

"And our goal is to show the American people over and over again, whether it’s the economy, whether it’s tariffs, whether it’s Russia and overseas and whether it’s rule of law, how bad he is,"
Schumer admits that impeachment won't happen before midterms
However, Schumer was quick to acknowledge that any potential impeachment efforts would have to wait until after the 2026 midterm election and is "too far away to predict."
"Our job is day to day to day to show who Trump is, what he is doing, and it’s having an effect as your polls show," the longtime New York Democrat stressed.
Schumer's comments came in response to a question Bash asked about statements made by freshman Georgia Democratic Sen. Jon Ossoff.
As Fox News reported, Ossoff appeared at a town hall event late last week where a woman said, "Why are there no calls for impeachment? Do something!"
Multiple Democrats are clamoring for impeachment
Ossoff expressed agreement with the woman's position, stating that "there is no doubt" the president has engaged in impeachable conduct.
"I saw just 48 hours ago, [Trump] is granting audiences to people who buy his meme coin," Ossoff was quoted as telling the woman.
"There is no question that that rises to the level of an impeachable offense. And the reality is that that's just one of many [examples] — defying a federal court order, for example. So, I agree with you," he added.
Fox News pointed out how a number of Democratic House members, including Reps. Ilhan Omar and Al Green, have similarly demanded.
