Sec. Hegseth announces end of 'Women, Peace & Security' program at Pentagon
Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth continues to make moves to bring the Pentagon and the U.S military back to its original mission of training troops and preparing them for war, instead of training them to memorize pronouns.
According to the Washington Examiner, Hegseth made another massive move at the Pentagon this week, announcing the end of the Defense Department's Women, Peace & Security program.
Technically, Hegseth explained that the program will remain alive but only operate at the bare required minimum until Congress can officially vote to end it during the appropriations process.
The program was originally launched under President Donald Trump during his first term in the White House, but was later morphed into a "woke" version under President Biden and his administration.
What happened?
The program, which originated under Trump, had a clear mission, as the Examiner noted:
Congress passed the Women, Peace, and Security Act of 2017, which called for the United States to be a "global leader" in the promotion of "the meaningful inclusion of women in conflict prevention, management, and resolution, and post-conflict relief and recovery efforts.”
However, when President Biden and his administration took over the White House and Pentagon in 2021, the program quickly devolved into a woke, DEI-ridden mess, marking one of the reasons Hegseth has decided to do away with it.
"WPS is yet another woke divisive/social justice/Biden initiative that overburdens our commanders and troops — distracting from our core task: WAR-FIGHTING," Hegseth said Tuesday morning on X.
"WPS is a UNITED NATIONS program pushed by feminists and left-wing activists. Politicians fawn over it; troops HATE it."
Hegseth followed up his post by doubling down on his decision to end the program.
"The woke & weak Biden Administration distorted & weaponized the straight-forward & security-focused WPS initiative launched in 2017. So—yes—we are ending the 'woke divisive/social justice/Biden (WPS) initiative.' Biden ruined EVERYTHING, including 'Women, Peace & Security.'”
Social media reacts
Hegseth drew praise from his supporters and continued hate from the TDS-ridden left.
"Thank you for another job well done," one X user wrote, referring to his ending of the WPS.
Another X user wrote, "Keep cutting out all the fluff and nonsense from the military and DoD. It is not needed and does not compliment the core mission of the armed forces." (sic)
Hopefully, Secretary Hegseth continues doing just that.
