Democrat Letitia James, the attorney general of New York, appeared to have just had a mental breakdown following reports that the administration of President Donald Trump is investigating her over alleged fraud.

The New York Post reports that James is now trying to claim that Trump is having her watched.

James made the claim during a rally at the National Action Network in Harlem. This was on May 3.

First, we'll take a look at what James had to say, then we'll take a look at the background of all of this.

"Coming to my house"

While speaking at the rally, James claimed that Trump is trying to attack her.

She said:

And it’s this bias of low expectations. And it’s this bias that somehow women cannot be strong enough and go toe-to-toe against these, this president of these United States. And I stand before you as someone who deals with him each and every day. In fact, he knows my name personally. Between me and Jasmine Crockett and Letitia James. In fact, he knows me so well he… they’re trying to attack me.

James went on to claim that Trump has individuals coming to her house and standing outside of her house. "Last Sunday, church Sunday, while I was in church, these individuals were in front of my house taking pictures. And then streaming it, putting it on social media," she said.

James went on to claim that Trump is acting out of "vindictiveness."

She argued:

This is nothing more than a revenge tour. This is nothing more than vindictiveness! This is nothing more than a individual who’s upset at me because we secured a $454 million judgment against him and his family and his company [sic].

Background

There actually seems to be a substantial difference between the case that James brought against Trump and the one that the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) appears ready to bring against her, namely, evidence of illegal activity.

Breitbart News reports:

[Federal Housing Finance Agency Leader William] Pulte alleged James “falsified records” to get favorable loans on two homes, one residence in Virginia and one in Brooklyn. James reportedly indicated the house in Virginia would be her main residence while serving as New York’s attorney general. She is also accused of misrepresenting the number of units in the Brooklyn home . . . James has allegedly said in building permit applications and mortgage documents that it only has four units.

The Trump administration is currently investigating the matter.

James is facing a slew of charges, including "wire fraud, mail fraud, bank fraud, and false statements to a financial institution."

James, thus far, has maintained her innocence.
