Dan Bongino clears the way for FBI docs to be released
Deputy Director Dan Bongino of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) took to X Saturday to discuss the bureau's openness regarding some of the most contentious and widely publicized cases in recent history.
In addition to criticizing the legacy media for their portrayal of the new head of the FBI, the deputy director laid out initiatives to make the country safer for children and to deport dangerous offenders, Breitbart News reported.
When it comes to high-profile cases that prior FBI directors blatantly refused to discuss, Bongino claims that the bureau is now cooperating.
The update
Bongino listed several highly publicized cases where big questions remain, leading to speculation and conspiracy theories.
I’d like to update you on some things that I think are going well, and some things that we can, and will, do better.
The workforce has been working overtime on task force operations to remove dangerous illegal aliens from the country. The work continues. The message is clear.…

FBI priority
He called dealing with and finding evidence of crimes against children an FBI “priority,” writing, "Operation 'Restoring Justice,' where we locked up child predators and 764 subjects, in every part of the country, is just the beginning. We are going to take your freedom if you take away a child’s innocence. Think twice if you’ve targeted children, because you’re next."
While working as an analyst for Fox News and on his own podcast, Bongino frequently engaged in heated exchanges with liberal commentator Geraldo Rivera and was a vehement opponent of media bias.
That remains unchanged, according to his X post.
Defense of others
While Bongino is known to not pull any punches when handing out his opinion or any known documentation about the missteps or collusion of those in places of power or influence, he also believes in the defense of others.
He defended the new head of the FBI, Kash Patel, saying that reports that Patel was a high-profile figure who missed briefings and attended sporting events were "a verifiable lie":
"…The media continue to entirely fabricate stories…And while I can’t address all of the nonsense in this one post, I will address the repeated attacks on Director Patel. The Director’s office is attached to mine…
"He spends anywhere between 10-12 hours in the office attending meetings with everyone from foreign heads of law enforcement to our counter-terror teams, and more. Any assertion otherwise is a verifiable lie."
Bongino's law enforcement past
Bongino joined the NYPD in 1995 before transferring to a federal branch of law enforcement
Following his 1999 move to the Secret Service, he was a member of the elite Presidential Protective Division under both Bush and Obama.
“Keep watching us and holding us accountable,” the deputy director wrote as he signed off. “God bless America, and all those who defend Her.”
