Earlier this week, President Donald Trump boarded Air Force One to embark on his first international trip -- to the Middle East -- for his second term in the White House.

According to the Daily Mail, not only is First Lady Melania Trump not joining him, but Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner and Eric Trump will also sit this one out, as they assume their "quiet" advisory roles.

Trump will reportedly make stops in the capitals of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates -- places where Kushner and some other family members have business.

Kushner is still reportedly "quietly" and "remotely" advising his father-in-law on the trip, as he has been "heavily involved" in talks with Saudia Arabia regarding formal diplomacy with Israel.

What's happening?

Kushner, who made a name for himself for his accomplishments as a very visible adviser to the president during his first term, was praised for his expertise in the Middle East.

The Daily Mail noted:

The White House added that Kushner was critical to some of Trump's first administration successes including the historic Abraham Accords.

White House Communications Director Steven Cheung told CNN there is 'no question' Trump values Kushner's expertise and 'welcomes his advice on all areas where he is willing to be helpful.'

"Jarend is an 'expert when it comes to the Middle East,'" a senior administration official reportedly told CNN.

They added, "He knows all the players and is one of the few people who has the ear of the Arab leaders, as well as the Israelis."

The president will be joined by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Energy Secretary Chris Wright and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

Social media reacts

Trump's supporters across social media reacted to the president's trip abroad.

"So glad to have Trump representing us on the world stage," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Always praying for his safety!"

It'll be fascinating to see what kind of deals Trump strikes while he's over there.
