For second time, Hunter Biden drops lawsuit against Fox News

Former President Joe Biden's son, Hunter Biden, has dropped pending legal action against Fox News for the second time.

According to reports, the former president's son has now established a pattern of filing and then voluntarily dropping lawsuits against Fox News over a miniseries mock trial that aired on the digital side of the network in 2022.

Hunter Biden's attorneys had alleged that Fox News violated "revenge porn" laws after the miniseries reportedly aired explicit photos of Hunter Biden -- ones that were contained on the infamous laptop.

His lawyers also claimed that Hunter Biden was defamed as a result of the miniseries airing the images.

What's going on?

Hunter Biden's lawyers wouldn't comment on why they dropped the second lawsuit, but the move happened in the wake of his lawyers attempting to move the case from federal court to a New York state court.

The miniseries in question documented Biden's overseas business deals and his shady past behavior, including his raging addictions.

The outlet noted:

The Fox series highlighted Hunter Biden’s lucrative business deals in Ukraine and China, which he pursued his father was vice president. It also delved into his admitted struggles with drug abuse and alcoholism. The program also featured some intimate images of Hunter Biden with various women, which appeared to originate from his infamous laptop.

The network had taken down the miniseries after Hunter Biden and his lawyers threatened legal action in 2024. He dropped the first case within a few weeks, only to file a new one months later.

The situation became even more interesting when his lawyers, in the latest court filing, said Hunter Biden was dropping the case “with prejudice," meaning he can't file another one.

Hunter Biden's legal problems have largely faded from the public light, especially given that his father issued him a pardon shortly before leaving office, despite promising that he wouldn't do so.

History of dropping suits

Hunter Biden apparently isn't afraid to drop pending lawsuits on a whim.

He's dropped several lawsuits in the past, including one about the laptop and another against the IRS.

The outlet noted:

He voluntarily dismissed a lawsuit about the laptop that he filed against a former Trump White House aide. And in April, he dropped his lawsuit against the IRS, giving up an effort to get compensated for what he claims was a breach of his taxpayer privacy.

It'll be interesting to see what the real reason reason is for Hunter dropping the suit.
