Fetterman back Trump on LA riots
U.S. Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) is, once again, standing up to members of his own party.
This time, according to Fox News, he is condemning those Democrats who are standing behind those involved in the Los Angeles riots.
Fetterman did so during a recent appearance on Bill Maher's Real Time. Perhaps even more surprising than Fetterman's take is that Maher seemed to agree with him. In other words, both Maher and Fetterman seem to be with Trump on this one.
I unapologetically stand for free speech, peaceful demonstrations, and immigration—but this is not that.
This is anarchy and true chaos.

"Good for Trump"
Republicans have been arguing that the Democrats are essentially giving Trump and Republicans a gift by supporting the Los Angeles riots, and Fetterman and Maher would seem to agree with this point.
"I agree. When they see it in a campaign ad, when they see the guy with the Mexican flag and the Waymo burning behind him, it's going to be good for Trump," Maher said.
Fetterman then agreed with Maher, noting how Los Angeles has been set "on fire twice in just six months now." Fetterman asked, "And those optics, I just run that through — like what's the people in Scranton might see those kinds of images and those kinds of videos?"
The pair closed out the segment by arguing that Democratic Party values have changed, not themselves.
Fetterman said:
That's the thing. It's like your values — I don't think have changed — I know mine haven't really changed. But I think our party has changed and now if you actually kind of point out and call out a lot of these things, you know, you do take a political price for a lot of those things.
"Anarchy and true chaos"
Fetterman also condemned the Los Angeles riots in a message that he posted to his social media account early last week.
In it, he wrote:
I unapologetically stand for free speech, peaceful demonstrations, and immigration—but this is not that. This is anarchy and true chaos. My party loses the moral high ground when we refuse to condemn setting cars on fire, destroying buildings, and assaulting law enforcement.
Fetterman, in contrast to many of his fellow Democrats, also stands behind Trump's recent military parade.
While many Democrats were protesting Trump, with the so-called No Kings protests, Fetterman wrote this on his X page:
This parade is comprised of our sons, daughters, mothers and fathers—the very best of us. Regardless of your politics, it’s appropriate to celebrate the 250 years of sacrifice, dedication, and service.
Unfortunately, we are now at a point where many on the political left do not find it appropriate to celebrate such things.
