The biased media don't like to share the truth, especially if it helps President Donald Trump or makes Democrats look bad, and will sometimes take overt action to prevent such information from being learned by readers and viewers.

One such example occurred on Wednesday when MSNBC abruptly cut away from Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth's testimony to Congress about the current state of border security under Trump's enforcement policies, according to the Daily Caller.

Had MSNBC not shifted away from Hegseth's testimony, its viewers might have realized just how dishonest the prior Biden administration was with its repeated insistence that it was impossible to adequately secure the nation's border under existing statutory authorities.

MSNBC doesn't want its viewers to hear the truth

On Wednesday, Sec. Hegseth testified on Capitol Hill about the Pentagon's budget request for the next fiscal year and spent a few moments speaking about the military's support role in helping to achieve "100% operational control" of the nation's southern border.

"Illegal crossings have decreased 99.9%, and it was just reported today that [Customs and Border Patrol] released zero illegals into the U.S. last month," Hegseth said. "Down from 62,000 released into the interior last year."

It was at that point that the MSNBC host suddenly cut in to draw attention away from the secretary's remarks to instead show President Trump greeting the construction workers at the White House who were installing new flag poles.

Border numbers are at "historic lows"

What Sec. Hegseth was likely referencing was a CBP news release on Tuesday that provided statistics for the month of May and revealed that, under the leadership of President Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, zero illegal aliens caught at the southern border had been released into the nation's interior, as compared to 62,000 who'd been caught and released in May 2024.

The release also noted that U.S. Border Patrol only encountered 8,725 illegal aliens crossing the border between ports of entry in May, a 93% decrease from the 117,905 encounters in May one year earlier.

"Under the leadership of this administration, CBP has received historic support resulting in another 93% decrease in illegal crossings along the southwest border this month when compared with last year," CBP Acting Commissioner Pete Flores said in a statement. "Border numbers continue to trend at historic lows, reinforcing the sustained success of our enforcement efforts in securing the homeland and protecting American communities."

This is all thanks to Trump's leadership on border security

The New York Post reported on the incredible news of the Trump administration's rapid success in securing the southern border in a matter of months and highlighted how stunning it was in comparison to the terrible policies and constant excuses from the Biden administration that resulted in a flood of illegal entries across the decidedly unsecured border.

"Under the Biden administration, our agents were pulled off the line. We were doing all the processing, detaining, transporting, and essentially baby-sitting, the border was wide open," National Border Patrol Council President Paul Perez told the Post. "It was unsecured because we didn’t have enough agents on the line to actually protect and deter. So now we’ve got the complete opposite. All of our agents are actually patrolling the border for the first time in many, many years."

The news was also heralded by Border Czar Tom Homan, who wrote in an X post, "President Trump’s leadership has resulted in the most secure border in this nation’s history. In the last 24 hours the Border Patrol encountered a total of 95 illegal aliens across the entire southern border. That is the lowest number EVER recorded. Compare that to the Biden Administration who surpassed more than 10,000 per day."

"On top of that, they released the vast majority into the US. How many were released under Trump for May? Zero. Compare that to the 62,000 aliens Biden released in May of last year," he added. "To continue this great work and make it more permanent, we need the Big Beautiful Bill passed so we can finish the job, to include the biggest deportation operation the American people voted for. God bless the men and women of CBP and ICE. President Trump is the Game Changer!"
