Former VP Pence says Trump 'made the right call' with airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities

It is not a stretch to say that the relationship between President Donald Trump and his former first-term Vice President Mike Pence has been strained over the past several years, and there are a multitude of issues on which the former partners don't see eye to eye.

One area of agreement between the two is preventing the Islamic Republic of Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons, and Pence surprisingly praised Trump for the airstrikes he ordered on Saturday to do exactly that, Breitbart reported.

The former vice president said the current president "made the right call" and displayed incredible "resolve" and "courage" in taking direct military action to make the world a safer place.

Trump ordered airstrikes against Iran

Saturday evening, President Trump posted on Truth Social, "We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home."

"Congratulations to our great American Warriors," he added. "There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE! Thank you for your attention to this matter."

Media reports soon provided details on the airstrikes against three of Iran's major nuclear facilities that involved several B-2 stealth bombers dropping so-called "bunker buster" munitions to destroy the underground compounds, as well as dozens of Tomahawk cruise missiles to take out the buildings above ground.

Trump later added separately in all caps, "Any retaliation by Iran against the United States of America will be met with force far greater than what was witnessed tonight. Thank you!"

Pence says Trump "made the right call" to strike Iran's nuclear facilities

In reaction to the news of those airstrikes, former VP Pence posted on X, "President Trump Made the Right Call to deploy American Forces to strike nuclear sites in Iran, and he should be commended for his decisive leadership. Iran could never be allowed to obtain a nuclear weapon."

"Thanks to the resolve of our Commander in Chief and the courage and professionalism of our Armed Forces, America, Israel, and the Free World are safer as a result," he continued. "Iran should now stand down and abandon any thought of retaliation against Americans or be prepared to face the consequences."

"Tonight President @realDonaldTrump proved again that the United States of America is the Leader of the Free World and America Stands with Israel," Pence added. "Thank You, Mr. President, and God Bless Our Troops."

Even Adam Kinzinger says Trump made a "good call"

As stunning as that supportive message from Pence may have been, it likely wasn't the biggest surprise of the night in terms of the president's enemies and rivals who suddenly found themselves in agreement with the president they otherwise despise.

One such example is former Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL), who voted in favor of President Trump's second impeachment and joined the Democrat-led charge to persecute the Trump supporters who protested and rioted at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

Kinzinger wrote on X, "The US attack on the nuclear facilities is, in my opinion, the right call. We will see what the results are, but now the key is suppressing surface to surface missile fire, and then negotiate to end the fight with Iran. Good call by the President."

Unfortunately, however, the vast majority of Trump's haters will never bring themselves to acknowledge that the bad orange man did a good thing, and many Democrats -- along with a few Republicans -- are now howling that the strikes were "unconstitutional" and even worthy of yet another impeachment.
