Biden released 700 Iranian illegals into the U.S.
As the United States enters a major conflict with Iran, new concerns are being raised about immigration.
Under President Biden, 700 Iranian nationals entered the United States illegally, Just The News reported, citing data from a Border Patrol agent.
The southern border has gone quiet since Trump returned to the White House and launched a crackdown on illegal immigration. But America is still dealing with the spillover from the Biden influx.
Biden's 700
Under federal law, Iranian nationals are considered "special interest aliens" who require extra vetting.
But under Biden, the number of Iranian nationals who entered the U.S. illegally increased each year. There were 48 in 2021, 197 in 2022, 462 in 2023 and 797 in 2024.
Over those four years, 1,504 Iranian nationals entered illegally, about half of whom were released into the U.S.
The number of Iranians released into the U.S. increased each year. There were 12 in 2021, 40 in 2022, 229 in 2023, and 448 in 2024.
These numbers do not include aliens who slipped between ports of entry undetected, known as "gotaways." It is impossible to know how many of the estimated 2 million gotaways who crossed under Biden were Iranian.
Heightened threat
The U.S. has accused Iran in the past of trying to assassinate President Trump, who ordered the killing of Iranian top general Qassem Soleimani in 2020.
Iran was tied to efforts to kill Trump as he campaigned for the presidency last year. The Department of Homeland Security is now warning of a "heightened threat environment" after Trump ordered historic airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities Saturday.
"Multiple recent Homeland terrorist attacks have been motivated by anti-Semitic or anti-Israel sentiment, and the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict could contribute to US-based individuals plotting additional attacks," the DHS warning said.
Iran hits back... sort of
The presence of Iranian illegal aliens on U.S. soil has raised fresh concerns about immigration and terrorism. Former FBI assistant director Chris Swecker slammed the Biden administration's "gross negligence."
"Because of the open borders, we are at a serious catch-up phase," he told Fox News Digital. "We don't know where those thousand Iranians are and who knows how many others got across the border."
On Monday, Iran attacked a U.S. base in Qatar. The missiles were intercepted, leaving no U.S. casualties. President Trump dismissed the attack as "weak" and said Iran gave advance warning.
In another shocking development, Trump announced that Israel and Iran have agreed to a cease-fire, ending days of war.
