Trump administration official blames 'deep state' figures for Iran strike

President Donald Trump raised eyebrows this past weekend when he announced a "very successful attack" on nuclear facilities in Iran.

While even some Democrats praised the move, one White House official alleged that Trump had been duped by traitorous "deep state" figures.

"I apologize and will never again doubt the power of the deep state"

As the New York Post reported, that claim was put forward in a series of social media posts on Sunday by Andrew Kloster, who is general counsel at the Office of Personnel Management.

In one since deleted X post, Kloster wrote, "I apologize and will never again doubt the power of the deep state." In another he complained that striking Iran was "just kind of pointless."

What's more, Kloster boosted another post from Vish Burra, who previously served as director of operations for disgraced New York Republican Rep. George Santos.

In it, Burra reacted to news that Iran had fired a missile into Israel by writing, "Can we please ignore this god-forsaken region of Earth and their tribal squabbles?"

Kloster has a controversial history

This is not the first time that Kloster has been at the center of controversy, as the left-leaning Project on Government Oversight (POGO) previously raised concerns over his hiring by the Trump administration.

In a report released this past January, POGO highlighted the fact that Kloster was the subject of a domestic violence-related restraining order that was subsequently dismissed following an agreement.

What's more, the report cited a number of bizarre social media posts Kloster had made, including one which declared that he needed "a woman who looks like she got punched."

In another post, Kloster described himself as a "raging misogynist" before telling a woman he's "so kind you’ll want to kill yourself and die, which is the goal."

Marjorie Taylor Greene expresses love for Trump after criticizing Iran strike

Kloster is not the only high-profile figure within the MAGA movement to raise doubts over Trump's decision to strike Iran, as Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene recently did so as well.

"It feels like a complete bait and switch to please the neocons, warmongers, military industrial complex contracts, and neocon tv personalities that MAGA hates and who were NEVER TRUMPERS!" Greene wrote in an X post on Monday.

However, the congresswoman put up another post hours later in which she voiced love for the president and slammed "dirty rumors that there’s a break between me and President Trump."
