Calls for DNC chair Ken Martin to step down grow after crude response to Trump

President Donald Trump's strike on Iran's nuclear facilities has Democrats throwing hissy fits all over the place, and now some of their anti-Trump comments are coming back to haunt them in potentially profound ways.

According to Breitbart, calls for Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chair Ken Martin to step down from his position are growing after his sickening response to a recent quote from President Trump on the state of Israel and Iran's ceasefire issues.

The calls for Martin to step down aren't just coming from Republicans -- top Democratic strategists are making the same calls, and the pressure is mounting.

While Trump used profanity in his response to reporters about the temporarily crumbling Iran-Israel ceasefire, Martin used profanity in a social media post in response to Trump, which hit a little different than Trump's off-the-cuff, candid verbal remark.

What happened?

Breitbart explained the situation and how it transpired:

While speaking to reporters early Tuesday about the conflict, Trump said Iran and Israel violated the recent ceasefire agreement, saying Israel dropped a load of bombs and he was “not happy with Israel.”

Trump added, "I’m not happy with Iran either. But I’m really unhappy if Israel is going out this morning because the one rocket that didn’t land, that was shot perhaps by mistake that didn’t land, I’m not happy about that."

That's when Trump dropped an F-bomb.

"We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f*** they’re doing. Do you understand that?” Trump said to reporters before walking off.

While that made headlines on its own, Martin's response, many say, was unnecessary and went way too far, as he wrote in a social media post, "So then why the f*** did you get us involved?"

Breitbart noted:

A top Democratic strategist told Breitbart News in response to the DNC’s post, “Ken Martin needs to step down.”

Martin, who became DNC chair in February, has been trying to clean up his failing party after its major losses in 2024 while the organization is hurting for money amid reported infighting, per Breitbart News.

Social media reacts

Martin was blasted across social media for the crude response to Trump's remarks.

"We've been involved since your god obama dropped pallets of cash," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "President Trump is saving lives. You waste them."

Only time will tell if Martin ultimately buckles to the pressure and steps down, but the chances appear to be slim.
