Trump administration halts delivery of some weapons to Ukraine amid concern over U.S. stockpiles
One of President Joe Biden's controversial policies was to supply Ukraine with well over $100 billion worth of American weapons.
Yet in a major course reversal, the Trump administration recently decided to shutdown planned shipments of some equipment.
Move aims to uphold "U.S. forces' readiness for Administration defense priorities"
According to Politico, the Pentagon moved this week to halt the delivery of certain precision munitions and air defense missiles due to concerns regarding U.S. stockpiles.
The Hill reported that Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Elbridge Colby defended the new approach during an interview with NewsNation on Tuesday.
"The Department of Defense continues to provide the President with robust options to continue military aid to Ukraine, consistent with his goal of bringing this tragic war to an end," the undersecretary insisted.
"At the same time, the Department is rigorously examining and adapting its approach to achieving this objective while also preserving U.S. forces’ readiness for Administration defense priorities," Colby declared.
Many conservatives voice support for arms decision on social media
The decision to scale back arms shipments to Ukraine was praised by many conservatives on social media, with one person writing, "Pentagon HALTS some weapons shipments to Ukraine after Biden depleted US munitions stockpiles!"

Co-Chair of Congressional Ukrainian Caucus warns of "imminent death" in Ukraine
Meanwhile, the Western Journal pointed out that criticism was leveled towards the White House by Ohio Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur of Ohio, who co-chairs the Congressional Ukrainian Caucus.
"U.S.-made air defense systems, including the Patriot platform, are the centerpiece of Ukraine’s defenses," she was quoted as saying.
"They work. They save lives every day," Kaptur continued before highlighting Politico's claim that Colby had masterminded the administration's change in policy concerning the provision of arms to Ukraine.
"If this reporting is true, then Mr. Colby …is taking action that will surely result in the imminent death of many Ukrainian military and civilians," the Ohio Democrat asserted.
