DANIEL VAUGHAN: America's Growing Liberal Domestic Terrorism Problem
The Democratic base is slowly losing grip on reality. They've talked themselves into such a lather over democracy being over that they're starting to believe it's time to act out their delusional ideas physically. That started with the attempts to jail Trump, peaked with the Trump assassinations, and is peaking again with assaults on federal agents and agencies.
Please don't take my word for it. Axios reported this week, "House Democrats told Axios they see a growing anger among their base that has, in some cases, morphed into a disregard for American institutions, political traditions and even the rule of law."
That's not all. "The grassroots wants more. 'Some of them have suggested ... what we really need to do is be willing to get shot' when visiting ICE facilities or federal agencies, a third House Democrat told Axios. 'Our own base is telling us that what we're doing is not good enough ... [that] there needs to be blood to grab the attention of the press and the public,' the lawmaker said."
Democrats are demanding that elected officials get shot. That's why farcical scenes have played out where Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) rushed into a room, unannounced, with Kristi Noem to get arrested. It's why other House Democrats have pushed to get arrested or charged in different situations.
It's an act. Their constituents want more fights, and they demand the theater these events are creating. And I'm paraphrasing another Democrat quoted by Axios who said, "It's like ... the Roman coliseum. People just want more and more of this spectacle."
But as we've seen with Donald Trump, these aren't just threats. He's had two domestic threats on his life. The press is uninterested in digging to the bottom of either. Mark Halperin noted on his show that the Trump assassinations have gotten less coverage than any other president in history, and that's a stunning thing to consider.
One of Trump's first executive orders was to declassify all the JFK assassination files, something Americans still obsess over. But as of right now, Salena Zito is the only journalist to produce a focus on the Trump assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, which she witnessed firsthand.
However, as I mentioned earlier, we're now witnessing another escalation. Democrats are increasingly clashing with ICE and other federal law enforcement agencies in the streets. And just this week, CNN and MSNBC ignored the fact that leftists ambushed and opened fire on ICE agents in Texas.
Isaac Shore is right when he observes, "Should that not strike you as unusual, imagine this scenario: 11 members of a right-wing militia group open fire on an FBI field office on a major holiday, and a responding police officer is shot in the neck. You think that would have a cold chance in hell of escaping the attention of the likes of Joe Scarborough, Wolf Blitzer, Jen Psaki, Brian Stelter, Lawrence O'Donnell, and Dana Bash?"
Jake Tapper will have to write another book, "Original Sin 2.0: How we missed Democrat Domestic Terrorist Attacks."
That's what this is, by the way. Ambushing ICE agents, spray painting graffiti, and running wild in major cities is domestic terrorism. Democratic lawmakers are getting their answer: if Democratic politicians refuse to bleed over Trump's presidency, then the base will rush out and create the blood themselves.
What we're witnessing is reminiscent of the period when the radical left lost its mind after the idealistic protests of the 1960s gave way to total disillusionment in the 1970s. Richard Nixon's "Law and Order" pitch worked because the left went from protests to outright domestic terrorism.
See if this sounds familiar: "According to FBI statistics, the United States experienced more than 2,500 domestic bombings in just 18 months in 1971 and 1972, with virtually no solved crimes and barely any significant prosecutions."
These deep blue cities aren't moving hard to arrest, prosecute, or track down anyone related to the radical violence we're witnessing. Just like in the 1970s, Democrats are hoping everyone just skips by the developing domestic terrorism problem.
It was a national crisis when the Charlottesville riots happened, and Democrats will talk endlessly about January 6. They don't want to address the Bernie Bro that shot up a baseball field full of Congressional Republicans or the assassination attempts on conservative Supreme Court Justices or Donald Trump.
And now, they're looking to ignore ambushes being set by radicals set on killing ICE agents doing their job. This situation is not tenable for any country to remain in. Democrats are engaging in domestic terrorism, not resistance.
They cheer the assassination of healthcare CEOs, demand blood from politicians, and seek to ambush federal officials. These attacks are a deep form of mental and spiritual sickness that must get purged from the country. We're witnessing a level deeper than Trump Derangement Syndrome - these people are becoming enemies of the state.
