A new report reveals how the U.S. Department of Justice, under the leadership of ex-Attorney General Merrick Garland and ex-President Joe Biden, targeted American parents.

The report is based on documents obtained by the America First Legal Foundation.

You may have already heard some of this story, but chances are you do not realize just how bad the situation was.

A flashback

Fox News recalls the infamous memo that Garland gave to DOJ officials on Oct. 4, 2021.

It writes:

Garland issued a directive on Oct. 4, 2021, mobilizing the FBI to assist local law enforcement partners with a "disturbing spike in harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence" against school administrators.

It was shortly thereafter, according to the outlet, that Garland participated in a congressional hearing on the subject.

There, Fox reports, he said "that he had issued the order just after the NSBA sent a letter to the White House, which the NSBA later retracted, that had asked the White House to investigate parents displaying threatening behavior at school board meetings as possible 'domestic terrorists.'"

Importantly, Fox notes, "Garland repeatedly maintained when pressed by Republican lawmakers about controversial matters that the DOJ worked independently of the White House." It turns out that this was false.

The latest

According to America First Legal, the new documents that it has obtained "conclusively" prove that "Garland’s infamous Oct. 4 memo labeling concerned parents at school board meetings 'domestic terrorists' was politically orchestrated and driven by the Biden White House."

The group cites an email from the Biden administration, which reads, "We're aware; challenge here is finding a federal hook. But WH has been in touch about whether we can assist in some form or fashion." This message was from the deputy attorney general at the time.

What's more is that, according to America First Legal, "career lawyers at DOJ warned that there was no federal authority or legal basis to target these parents in the first place." Yet, the Biden administration continued to do just that.

However, the key addition, from these new documents, is that the Biden White House was involved in the DOJ's targeting of American parents.

In other words, it would appear that Garland was not exactly honest in his testimony before Congress. Now, the question is whether anyone will actually be held accountable. We'll see.
