Jimmy Kimmel calls out ‘repulsive’ liberals pushing party members away

Longtime fan of the Democrat Party, Jimmy Kimmel, appears to have broken ranks with his fellow politicos, offering a tongue-lashing to the party of the left in a recent interview.

The late-night host said he believes the “repulsive” liberal voices are pushing away those who might take part in voting with the left, as Breitbart News reported.

Kimmel’s comments came during an appearance on the “Sarah Silverman Podcast” late last week.

The pair of comedians spoke to how they believe cancel culture has impacted the party since President Donald Trump took office for a second time.

All about Trump

According to the comedians, the current culture, combined with those who refuse to voice regret for their support of Trump, is a huge problem.

Silverman talked about the attacks directed and podcast host Joe Rogan, who has taken a lot of heat for supporting Trump in 2024.

According to the comedian, it is "ironic" that the party of "inclusivity" was "incredibly elitist,” speaking about the left.

It was Kimmel, however, who campaigned with Democrats in 2024 and defended the party, but agreed that the progressives have pushed away voters.

From Kimmel

The TV host said, “It's not the party. It's not the majority. It's the loud voices that scare people from saying what they believe and make you think twice about a joke or whatever.

"You know, a lot of their points are valid, but a lot of them are also just repulsive, in that they repel people," Kimmel continued. "They go like, 'Oh, you're no fun. I don't want to be around you.' And I think that if you had to boil it down to one thing, that's kind of what it is."

This isn’t the first time Kimmel has gone after his own party members, however. In April of this year, he blamed liberals for trying to cancel comedians:

"I think a lot of the outrage is completely manufactured, and it’s like, a lot of these people who are angry aren’t really angry. I think these liberals who’ve done such a good job of viciously attacking comedians are a big part of the reason why Trump is the president right now," he said.

This is all following Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” cancellation in July, and a prediction by Trump that Kimmel and fellow late-night host Jimmy Fallon would follow close on his heels.
