Mistakes happen in the news business, and Fox News host Brian Kilmeade was a bit embarrassed by the one he made this week when referencing former FBI Director James Comey during a segment talking about his infamous "86-47" picture on the beach.

According to the Daily Mail, Kilmeade was slamming the former FBI director and pointing out the incident, which many believe was a purposeful attempt to suggest "eighty-sixing" Trump, which could mean a suggestion of assassination.

Instead of using the number "86," Kilmeade slipped and used the number "69" instead, which in some settings, is code for a sexual act.

The slip had his co-hosts, who were sitting next to him, Lawrence Jones and Ainsley Earhardt, laughing out loud as Kilmeade attempted to save face in the moment.

What happened?

In May, Comey had posted a picture on Instagram of a beach setting with shells that spelled out "86 47," which many on the left use as a term to describe the idea of assassinating President Trump.

At the time, Comey vowed that he had no idea that's what it meant when his picture went viral and sparked concern that a former FBI director was endorsing the disgusting message.

Kilmeade was referencing the situation when he made the slip that had his co-hosts in stitches.

"Meanwhile, if you talk about a guy that’s absolutely unhinged and lost his mind. He is 6-foot-7. He is James Comey,' Kilmeade said. "This guy, who is walking on the beach and sees a mysterious configurations of rocks [and says] 'Maybe it’s a natural phenomenon - that say 69.'"

"Eighty-six, rather," Kilmeade quickly replied after realizing what he said, before adding, "86-47."

The Daily Mail noted:

His cohosts, Earhardt and cohost Lawrence B. Jones, had been visibly holding in there laughter.

Following the admission, the could not contain themselves any longer, each letting out a laugh. Kilmeade cracked as well, but pressed forth with his criticism.

Slamming Comey

Kilmeade was torching Comey for continuing to attack the Trump administration nearly a decade after he shut down an investigation into Hillary Clinton's email debacle.

"Multiple investigations have him going back to 2016 in cahoots with Hillary Clinton and company to cut the knees out of the first Trump administration; he has not stopped posting," Kilmeade said.

"Well, he’s a Swifty," Jones added, referring to a recent admission by Comey that he's a die-hard Taylor Swift fan. "What guy does that?"

Only time will tell what Comey says next.
