Biden administration ignored antisemitism during the last presidency
Former President Joe Biden allegedly turned a blind eye to some egregious miscarriages of justice taking place in universities during his tenure.
The report states that Antisemitism at Columbia University saw a massive growth spurt during the Biden administration, according to The Daily Caller.
The former president reportedly declined the chance to attack the problem head on, according to Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) acting Chair Andrea Lucas.
This comes after Columbia recently agreed to pay a $21 million EEOC settlement just last month, resolving potential civil rights violations against Jewish employees.
From the chair
Lucas stated that these issues were originally “teed up” during the Biden administration, and the facts of the case are incriminating.
“When I saw the rising flood of antisemitism, I filed a commissioner’s charge,” Lucas told reporters.
“It’s a statutory tool that Congress gave each commissioner, but it has been rarely used by Republicans and much more used by Democrats. And so I launched that and it sort of floundered during the Biden administration.”
The Columbia settlement was concurrent with a $200 million deal Columbia reached with the Trump administration to settle generalized discrimination claims.
The federal deal
The $200 million deal included the university’s promise not to take part in any racial discrimination in its hiring practices, or admission policies, and to commit to “merit-based” hiring.”
“While Columbia does not admit to wrongdoing with this resolution agreement, the institution’s leaders have recognized, repeatedly, that Jewish students and faculty have experienced painful, unacceptable incidents, and that reform was and is needed,” the university said when announcing the agreement.
According to Lucas, these two changes and the subsequent agreement by Columbia is an “amazing whole-of-government-effort,” to deal with discrimination.
What caused the outbreak
Universities nationwide were taken over by antisemitic activity following the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas attacks on Israel, which prompted all-out conflict in the region.
In a surprising turn of events, the more liberal institutions in the United States saw the most support for the terrorist group with Muslim roots.
The support was a curiosity to many, considering the constrictive nature of the Muslim faith, but Black Lives Matter and other groups rallied behind the Palestinian claim to lands that are primarily ruled by Hamas terrorists.
Under the leadership of Biden-Harris, antisemitism has reached unprecedented highs in the US in modern history. Jewish students had to hide; synagogues vandalized; Jews have been attacked and killed.
