Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is continuing the Trump administration's mission of tamping down on and eliminating government waste, including within her own organization.

According to JustTheNews, Gabbard revealed this week that a massive reorganization of the U.S. intelligence agency will soon take place, meaning hundreds of staff within her own office will be cut, among many others across the intel community as a whole.

The news comes in the wake of reports of the "politicized weaponization of intelligence."

As a result of the reorganization efforts, a staggering 40% of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) workforce will be slashed.

What's happening?

The move will shake the intelligence community and hopefully mold it into a lean, efficient resource for the protection of America both at home and abroad.

Gabbard's move will also have a shocking benefit for the American taxpayer -- saving us roughly $700 million per year as a result of the staff reductions.

The ODNI will be restructured to carry out its "core mission as the central hub for integration, strategic guidance, and oversight of the U.S. intelligence community."

In an X statement, Gabbard revealed that she will be overseeing the launch of "ODNI 2.0."

"Today I’m launching ODNI 2.0 – the first step toward bringing about transformational change that is based on cutting bloated bureaucracy, rooting out deep state actors, and restoring mission focus," Gabbard wrote.

She added, "When implementation is complete, ODNI will be more agile, efficient, and effective, reducing our organization by more than 40%, saving taxpayers $700+ million per year."

Social media reacts

Users across social media, especially fans of President Donald Trump's DNI pick, praised Gabbard for the announcement.

"One thing Trump did right this time, he chose the right people for the right job. All those that underestimated Tulsi, I knew who she was. Trump did good. He chose the best of the best. She’s a rare one," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Reforms in ODNI _2.0 will be a game-changer in the history of intelligence."
