FBI Director Kash Patel reinstates 10 whistleblower agents with full back pay

Under President Joe Biden, the FBI's reputation was absolutely tarnished, and that's being kind. Being a whistleblower at that time meant the likelihood of losing one's position within the agency.

According to JustTheNews, FBI Director Kash Patel made the bombshell announcement this week that at least 10 whistleblowers who lost their jobs for letting the country know what was going on behind closed doors at the bureau under Biden will not only get their jobs back, but also backpay.

Those same individuals, as part of being reinstated to the agency, will also regain their security clearances, marking a significant victory in the pursuit of transparency and the courage to speak the truth.

Patel reportedly worked with Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) to make it happen.

What's going on?

Director Patel's announcement regarding the reinstatement of the agents who were let go for bringing attention to the political weaponization of the bureau under Biden was well-received.

The director announced the good news in an X post this week.

"Breaking: agreements have been reached with 10 FBI Whistleblowers (and counsel) to include a combination of backpay, security clearance, and reinstatement. We greatly appreciate @realDonaldTrump commitment to transparency and accountability. Thank you to
@ChuckGrassley for working with us to make this happen," Patel wrote.

JustTheNews noted:

Patel himself did not elaborate on the agreement. The FBI under the Biden administration, notably under the tenure of Director Christopher Wray, faced a number of whistleblower allegations of political bias, including over the bureau's handling of Jan. 6 investigations.

Several people on social media thanked Patel for making it happen and sending a message that whistleblowers are to be protected and not retaliated against.

Social media reacts

Users across social media reacted to Patel's announcement, with many of them cheering the director over the news.

"Whistleblowers are the frontline against bureaucratic rot—glad to see accountability finally happening. Under the previous administration, FBI brass weaponized security clearances to silence patriots exposing corruption. Reinstating these agents with backpay is a start, but let’s not forget: Biden’s DOJ spent years targeting truth-tellers while protecting political operatives," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Thank you for the great work you’re doing."

Hopefully, this will encourage potential new whistleblowers in the future.
