RFK Jr. announces new limitations on use of COVID-19 vaccines

The Daily Beast reported earlier this week that Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is planning to ban the COVID-19 vaccine.

While Kennedy stopped short of announcing a ban on Wednesday, the secretary did move to limit their use.

Kennedy touts fulfilment of four major promises

According to Newsweek, Kennedy made that declaration via a social media post which he began by writing, "I promised 4 things."

Kennedy then recalled how his promises included ending vaccine mandates, keeping COVID vaccine available on a voluntary basis, forcing drug companies to provide placebo-controlled trials, and ending emergency authorizations.

"In a series of FDA actions today we accomplished all four goals," he continued. "The emergency use authorizations for Covid vaccines, once used to justify broad mandates on the general public during the Biden administration, are now rescinded."

Healthy children and younger adults will no longer qualify

"FDA has now issued marketing authorization for those at higher risk: Moderna (6+ months), Pfizer (5+), and Novavax (12+)," Kennedy explained.

"These vaccines are available for all patients who choose them after consulting with their doctors," the HHS secretary stressed.

"The American people demanded science, safety, and common sense. This framework delivers all three," Kennedy went on to add.

Newsweek noted how under the FDA's new rules, healthy children and most younger adults will no longer automatically qualify for a COVID shot.

The publication pointed out that this represents a sharp departure from the Biden administration's recommendation that everyone aged 6 months and up be vaccinated on an annual basis.

Cardiologist suggests that COVID vaccines could be pulled "within months"

In its report, the Daily Beast cited British cardiologist Dr. Aseem Malhotra, who is an advisor to the lobbying group Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Action.

Malhotra indicated that many of Kennedy's closest associates "cannot understand" why COVID vaccines are still being prescribed and predicted that they could be withdrawn "within months."

"It could [happen] in a number of stages, including learning more about the data," Malhotra was quoted as saying. "But given the increased talk of vaccine injuries in the past few weeks among the administration, it could also come with one clean decision."
