Clinton, Trump letters surface in Epstein document dump

House Republicans released a birthday album addressed to Jeffrey Epstein that includes a letter from Bill Clinton.

Clinton lauds Epstein for his "child-like curiosity, the drive to make a difference, and the [illegible] of friends" in the 50th birthday message, which was included in a batch of records provided by Epstein's estate to the House Oversight Committee.

The bombshell release comes after Democrats on the committee posted an image of a letter that President Trump purportedly wrote to Epstein.

The chair of the committee, James Comer (R-KY), then released the rest of the documents from Epstein's estate and accused Democrats of "cherry-picking" to smear Trump. Comer has subpoenaed Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary to testify about Epstein.

Clinton, Trump letters

The White House maintains that the purported Trump letter is a fake, and Trump has already sued the Wall Street Journal for its report about the letter in July.

The letter contains an imagined dialogue between Trump and Epstein inside a drawing of a naked woman. The message concludes with "Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret" and Trump's signature.

"As I have said all along, it's very clear President Trump did not draw this picture, and he did not sign it. President Trump's legal team will continue to aggressively pursue litigation," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt wrote on X.

Also included in the birthday album is a cartoon that appears to joke about Epstein grooming girls. The picture shows Epstein handing a lollipop and balloons to a group of girls in 1983. Another drawing next it shows naked women massaging Epstein in 2003 on a beach, with his private jet in the background of the picture, which contains the words, "What a great country!"

Epstein firestorm rages

Neither Trump nor Clinton has been accused of wrongdoing in relation to Epstein, who was thrust back into the headlines in July after the Justice Department announced it would not release further information from the government's Epstein files.

Democrats have seized on the issue to attack Trump and accuse him of a cover-up. Trump has dismissed the continued focus on the story as a "hoax" meant to distract from his successes. Trump and his Republican allies have also drawn attention to Clinton's ties to Epstein, which have long been the subject of speculation.

In a memoir released last year, Clinton said he regretted ever befriending the pedophile and denied visiting his infamous Caribbean island.

“The bottom line is, even though it allowed me to visit the work of my foundation, traveling on Epstein’s plane was not worth the years of questioning afterward,” Clinton wrote.

The former president is said to have flown on Epstein's private jet 17 times. After Epstein's arrest for sex trafficking in 2019, Clinton acknowledged four trips on Epstein's plane in 2002 and 2003 and also said he met him at his home and office in New York, but Clinton denied any awareness of his former friend's crimes and insisted he was accompanied at all times by Secret Service.

“President Clinton knows nothing about the terrible crimes Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to in Florida some time ago, or those with which he has been recently charged in New York," a Clinton spokesperson said at the time.
