Trump calls Epstein letter a 'dead issue'
House Democrats have been raging about the connection between disgraced Democrat financier Jeffrey Epstein and President Donald Trump.
Democrats on the House Oversight Committee gleefully posted to X this week about a note that Trump allegedly sent Epstein for his 50th birthday, as the Hindustan Times reported.
This came following a document release stemming from a subpoena by the GOP-led committee.
Trump has denied that he wrote the letter, and the White House dismissed it on Monday, arguing that the signature wasn’t a match for Trump.
The Letter
The letter in question was allegedly sent in 2003 and has been reported on by a plethora of outlets. The letter shows an outline of a woman, with a name that appears to be Trump’s first name near the bottom.
The note appears to lay out a conversation, allegedly between Trump and Epstein, with Trump saying, "We have certain things in common, Jeffrey."
Included in the letter is the person who wrote it saying, "A pal is a wonderful thing. Happy birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret."

Back in July, the Wall Street Journal claimed the letter was from Trump to Epstein in 2003.

The Response
The response on social media was aggressive, with one person posting, “Yeah, even Trump supporters know that’s his signature,” and another adding, “That’s his signature.”
A third backed it up, saying, “Definitely Trump signature, look at one of his previous signatures, they are the same,” and a fourth wrote, “Trump’s signature is authentic.”
When White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was pressed about whether the documents were fake, she said, “I did not say the documents are a hoax. I said the entire narrative surrounding Jeffrey Epstein right now that is absorbing many of the liberal cable channels is a hoax. It is a distraction.”
Trump himself also declined to discuss the letter: "I don’t comment on something that’s a dead issue," Trump said during a brief phone call Tuesday morning with the press. "I gave all comments to the staff. It’s a dead issue."
