RFK Jr. under pressure to support whooping cough vaccines after multiple infant deaths
Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is under pressure from Senator Bill Cassidy (R-LA) to throw his support behind whooping cough vaccines.
Following multiple infant deaths from whooping cough amid a nationwide outbreak of the disease, Cassidy wants RFK Jr. to push the vaccine as vaccination rates have been on the decline.
In a letter to Kennedy on Friday, Cassidy claimed that he could bolster vaccination rates among the most vulnerable communities by showing support for the pertussis vaccine.
In an excerpt from the letter posted to X, Cassidy stated, "I want to work together to stop pertussis. Your strong public support for this vaccine will save lives. Your words are a powerful tool in protecting the health of the American people.”
There are about 10,000 cases per year according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and that number has been rising since the early 2000's.
Rising Cases
According to the CDC, there have been 19,000 whooping cough cases this year across the United States. Washington state has had the most cases, nearly 1,800, while Oregon, California, and Florida each have roughly 1,200.
Louisiana has seen 386 pertussis cases this year, including 63 hospitalizations and two infant deaths. Nearly two-thirds of the cases have been infants, mostly under age one.
Senator Cassidy is particularly concerned because as he explained, "among those hospitalized in Louisiana, 75 percent were either unvaccinated or not up to date on pertussis vaccinations."
While these cases are undoubtedly a big problem, Kennedy and his HHS administration are more concerned with ensuring these vaccines are worth pushing and aren't causing injuries to a large portion of the population.
There has been no response from Kennedy so far but the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices is set to meet next week for the first time since he appointed eight new members who share his fear of vaccine injuries.
Vaccine Injuries
RFK Jr. has been busy upending decades of entrenched thinking in America's health sector and going to war with Big Pharma, which has used its billions to control health authorities for decades.
One of the biggest issues that Kennedy and his people are tackling is the issue of vaccine side-effects and injuries.
The Covid-19 pandemic and the mass censorship around criticism of the vaccine woke up many Americans to the reality that being a vaccine skeptic was dangerous and would pit you against the power of mega corporations that poured billions into political campaigns to shut down skeptics.
Now with Kennedy in power, legitimate investigations are being done for the first time into the efficacy of vaccines that have been administered to millions of Americans.
It is crucial that Kennedy quickly determine which vaccines are worth any possible side effects and which vaccines aren't worth it and have been propped up by billions of dollars in lobbying money from Big Pharma.
