Ken Paxton, the Republican attorney general of Texas, appears to have been caught in a sex scandal.

The Daily Mail reports that this comes "less than two years after cheating on his wife with his mistress."

This also comes as Paxton is looking to win a U.S. Senate seat in the upcoming midterm elections, which is probably no coincidence.

The allegations

The Daily Mail is claiming that Paxton was caught "secretly seeing a married Christian influencer." The influencer has been identified as 57-year-old Tracy Duhon, a mother of seven children.

Per the outlet:

The romance between Duhon and Paxton started after the pair met at the Kentucky Derby last year, multiple sources revealed. Since May 2024, the lovers have had multiple rendezvous on trips across the country and even overseas, according to insiders.
The Daily Mail goes on to claim that "The getaways were essential to keeping the entanglement secret as both were married at the time, the sources said."

Nonetheless, Paxton's wife, Texas State Senator Angela Paxton, found out about it.

The Daily Mail writes:

Despite their best efforts to keep their relationship under wraps, Paxton's wife learned her husband was cheating again earlier this year, another source said.
Even though the Paxtons had not lived together since the summer of 2024, learning about Duhon made the arrangement between Angela and Paxton untenable, sources explained.

Background

You may have seen earlier reports about Angela Paxton filing for divorce from Ken Paxton.

Angela Paxton, in July, released a statement, saying:

Today, after 38 years of marriage, I filed for divorce on biblical grounds. I believe marriage is a sacred covenant and I have earnestly pursued reconciliation. But in light of recent discoveries, I do not believe that it honors God or is loving to myself, my children, or Ken to remain in the marriage. I move forward with complete confidence that God is always working everything together for the good of those who love Him and who are called according to His purpose.

It has also been reported that this is not the first time that Ken Paxton cheated on his wife.

Previously, he had been caught cheating on his wife with Laura Olsen. The Daily Mail reports:

He was impeached by the state house, accused of misusing his office and taking bribes while trying to get a job for his lover, allegations he denied all along and was acquitted of in the state senate. His wife stood by him through that first scandal.

Despite all of this, Paxton is continuing his bid for a U.S. Senate seat.
