VP Vance shuts down media's 'MAGA' narrative for Kirk shooting, blames 'left-wing political radicalization'

Some Democrats and media figures have attempted to push the patently absurd narrative that the suspected assassin of conservative activist Charlie Kirk was a pro-Trump, right-wing member of the MAGA movement.

Vice President JD Vance just dropped a bomb of common sense and logic on that ridiculous assertion by confirming that the gruesome murder was caused by the alleged shooter's "left-wing political radicalization," according to Breitbart.

Vance also expressed his support for the cultural and social consequences suffered by some on the left who've publicly celebrated or mocked the untimely death of Kirk, as well as possible financial and legal repercussions for the subversive far-left groups that fund and promote leftist radicalization and political violence.

Shooter driven by "left-wing political radicalization"

Vice President Vance sat down on Wednesday for an interview with Fox News host Jesse Watters to discuss the assassination of his friend and the possible fallout and ramifications of the heartbreaking loss of the influential conservative star.

Near the end of the first segment of the interview, Watters asked Vance about the dishonest reports from the media that attempted to link the alleged shooter, Tyler Robinson, to President Trump's MAGA movement, which the VP asserted was caused by the ideological left's inability to "admit that their radicalism and their craziness helped to cause this problem."

"Look, this is not in dispute," he continued. "You talk to the shooter’s mother, you talk to the shooter’s father. You talk to the local district attorney. You talk to the FBI director or the deputy director of the FBI."

"You look at every ounce of evidence that we have, and it is clear this is a person who grew up in a pretty normal family, actually had a pretty good home life, who was radicalized by the far left, by the social networks of the far left, by the ideas of the far left, and got so far down the path of radicalization that he killed my friend," Vance said.

"That is not a 'both sides' problem," he added. "My friend is dead because of left-wing political radicalization, and if you want to cut that s--t out, then be honest about it and look yourself in the mirror."

Social consequences for "disgusting" speech are good

CNN reported that VP Vance also addressed the issue of some leftists facing some measure of accountability, such as losing their job, after publicly celebrating Kirk's death or mocking those who mourn him, and expressed his support for such societally imposed consequences for unacceptable behavior.

"The First Amendment protects a lot of very ugly speech, but if you celebrate Charlie Kirk’s death, you should not be protected from being fired for being a disgusting person," Vance said. "If you are a university professor who benefits from American tax dollars, you should not be celebrating Charlie Kirk’s death, and if you are, maybe you should lose your job or your university should -- should face a loss of funding."

"If you are the kind of person who thinks that Charlie Kirk was justifiably murdered, sometimes the government can’t do anything about that," he added. "But you know what can -- is, is civil society, and I’ve actually been gratified to see all these people standing up and saying, 'Yes, we have free speech and yes, we have free debate, but if you’re, if you’re celebrating the death of a young father, you ought to pay some consequences for it.'"

"We are going to go after you"

CNN further reported that, in the second part of the Fox News interview, VP Vance referenced the ongoing FBI investigation into the assassination and issued a warning for any leftist organizations that may have had foreknowledge of or provided financial or material assistance to Kirk's assassination.

"If your movement is telling you to commit acts of violence against people for speaking words you don't like, number 1, you are evil, and number 2, you are engaged in a terrorist movement, and that is part of what we have to root out," Vance said.

The vice president added, "We are working very hard to ensure that the funding networks for left-wing violence, that the radicalization networks for left-wing violence -- that if you encourage or fund your fellow Americans or anybody else to commit acts of violence because you disagree with political speech, you are going to be treated like a terrorist organization, and we are going to go after you."
