Former spokesman for Jill Biden reveals that the Biden inner circle was 'full of bullies' and 'mean girls'

For several years, Michael LaRosa served as a special assistant to former President Joe Biden and as the chief spokesman for former first lady Jill Biden, but his experiences during that service were not always pleasant.

In a recent op-ed, LaRosa blasted some of his former colleagues in the Biden White House as being "bullies" and "mean girls" who managed a "cult" that protected the Bidens from scrutiny and criticism, according to the New York Post.

LaRosa declined to name specific names, but his account echoes the similar bullying complaints of other former Biden administration insiders, and it isn't too difficult to figure out who some of the worst offenders might be.

"Biden bubble was full of bullies"

In an op-ed for Fox News, LaRosa reflected on his few years within the Biden inner circle, first as part of the 2020 Biden campaign and then, until 2022, as a special assistant to the president and as the chief spokesman for the first lady.

The impetus for LaRosa to finally speak out was the impending release of former Vice President Kamala Harris' new memoir, "107 Days," which, based on excerpts shared by the media, appears to be a tell-all that holds little back in sharply critiquing the prior administration and exposing its many shortcomings.

"Harris’s forthcoming book, according to recently released excerpts, says what insiders whispered for years: the Biden bubble was full of bullies. The former vice president is finally saying the quiet part out loud," LaRosa wrote.

He shared that the Biden White House was full of "cartoonish characters" who thought they were a "big f--king deal" but, in reality, had "no instincts for the shifting media and political landscape -- and no instinct for politics as it is now lived and practiced in the age of Donald Trump."

Attacked by his former colleagues for telling the truth

In a reference to the "Mean Girls" movie and its particularly antagonistic main villain, Regina Georges, LaRosa wrote in the Fox News op-ed, "Inside the White House, the Regina Georges of Biden’s circle ruled like mean girls and policed loyalty. Staff weren’t serving a president and first lady -- they were serving a cult. You never knew when Regina was in charge or when the Bidens were. It was all blurred."

"Joe and Jill Biden were warm, decent, empathetic," he continued. "But they enabled some of the nastiest and most mean-spirted people I’ve ever encountered in politics. That contradiction defines the Biden era."

LaRosa ironically observed how standing up to bullies was a frequent topic of the Biden campaign and administration, and noted, "Biden’s final mission, he said, was to save the country from Trump -- who Democrats consider to be the ultimate bully. But bullies are everywhere, even among Democrats, and despite his brand -- even around Biden."

He recalled his shift from White House staffer to Democratic cable news punditry, and how his efforts to honestly critique the White House on areas in which there was room for improvement was often met with attacks and threats from his former colleagues to malign his credibility and coerce him into silence.

"To them, I had taken off the team jersey by pointing out missed opportunities and mistakes, so they came for me," LaRosa revealed. "The example they tried to make of me was meant to serve as a warning to any Democrat who raised concerns ahead of 2024. The same bullies who claimed to serve a president who despised bullies were sending me a message: shut up or we’ll humiliate you."

"Harris isn’t bending" to the Biden admin bullies

While LaRosa didn't name any names in his piece, the Post noted that one likely target of his complaints was Anthony Bernal, the former first lady's chief of staff, who was reportedly the most powerful and influential first lady's chief of staff and ruled the office, and beyond, with an iron fist and abrasive personality, often bullying everyone who worked under and around him.

As for the blowback that former VP Harris has begun to receive from the Biden inner circle for the revealing claims in her book, LaRosa pointed out in his op-ed that, at least so far, "Harris isn’t bending. Not this time. She sees what I saw. What we all eventually saw. And she is standing up to them."

"I hope she continues to speak with unfiltered candor about her experience," he added. "Take it from this Democrat. She’ll sleep better at night."
