John Fetterman cites study showing most political violence this year has been left-wing
President Donald Trump has warned of a growing threat from far-left violence following Charlie Kirk's assassination and a fatal attack on an ICE facility in Dallas.
While many on the left have downplayed that suggestion, Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. John Fetterman has all but admitted that Trump is right.
Study shows most political violence this year has been left-wing
As Breitbart noted, that acknowledgement was implicit in a social media post which the Capitol Hill lawmaker put up this past weekend.
Unchecked extreme rhetoric, like labels as Hitler or fascist, will foment more extreme outcomes.
Political violence is always wrong—no exceptions.

"Unchecked extreme rhetoric, like labels as Hitler or fascist, will foment more extreme outcomes. Political violence is always wrong—no exceptions. We must all turn the temperature down," Fetterman wrote.
He also included a screenshot of an Axios article which focused on a study that the Center for Strategic & International Studies carried out.
It pointed to five attacks or plots with left-wing ideological motivation which have taken place so far this year. In contrast, the study identified just one such attack that was perpetrated by a right-wing figure.
Democrat likens ICE agents to "slave patrols"
However, Fetterman's call to "turn the temperature down" clashed sharply with recent remarks from some of the senator's fellow Democrats.
During an interview last week with late-night comedy host Stephen Colbert, California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom accused ICE agents of spreading "authoritarianism" by "disappearing" people.
Breitbart highlighted similar remarks which Texas Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett made earlier last month to MSNBC.
"As somebody who understands history, when I see ICE, I see slave patrols," the congresswoman declared. "Now, I never lived through the slave patrol period. But if you know the history of policing in this country, then you understand that they were born out of slave patrols."
Breitbart columnist says Crockett and Newsom "are encouraging violence"
In response, Breitbart columnist John Nolte accused Newsom and Crockett of creating the conditions for more attacks against federal law enforcement personnel.
"When you compare ICE agents, who are guilty of nothing more than enforcing the law, to 'slave patrols,' as Crockett did, there is no question that you are encouraging violence against those 'slave patrols,'" Nolte wrote.
"What is a moral and virtuous person supposed to do about masked men who jump out of cars and disappear people, if not kill them?" he later added.
